🎻🗽 Ms. Macleod and our 4th grade beginner string musicians in Team Orchestra love sharing our orchestral adventures with you, our families & friends! 🎻❤️
Another string technique this week is learning how to transition from #pizzicato (plucking) to #arco (using the bow) without much time to do it! High-five to our beginner #cellist for maintaining strength & flexibility in her hand shapes while doing so! #ewlearns#nyphilharmonic
Reading music isn’t easy! Staff notation is a graph;the vertical axis is pitch & the horizontal axis is time. It is well adapted to 2 fundamental aspects of Western music: harmony & rhythm. So proud of our #musicians as they venture into note-reading! #ewlearns
🎻🧠Our #cellists brought 100% focus to our lessons today which revolved around reading music on the #music staff! And of course, we are still learning how the different skills required by right & left hands/arms must somehow work together to make a beautiful sound 🎻#ewlearns
🎻So proud of these beginner #violinists who not only added a professional “lift of the bow” on the last note to let it ring, but who also worked on ensemble skills for “Manhattan Blues” by listening 2 each other & moving their bows together! They even sang along 🎻#ewlearns
🎻🤍🧡Really working hard on maintaining our curved finger left-hand shape to produce our new D-string notes with a healthy and focused tone! #cello#ewlearns#beginnerorchestra
