We have been informed of sad news of retired Deputy Fire Officer Dave Ellis, who sadly passed away in the last few days. Dave was very well respected and loved by all. He will be sadly missed 🚒😢
Today’s @30days30waysUK theme is #WhatEmergency
What exactly is an emergency? What does that mean to you? What emergencies have happened in #Northamptonshire ? Do you remember any? Share and comment.
@NorthantsRAYNET have undertaken numerous exercises over the years. From the WARMON exercises of the 80’s (for those old enough to know) to now supporting us, other voluntary organisation's and the emergency services to provide the vital comms link. #VolunteersWeek#RAYNET
RAYNET was originally set up in 1953 after the East Coast Flooding’s, when amateur radio enthusiasts, using their own radio equipment were the only way of providing a reliable link into the stricken area. #VolunteersWeek#RAYNET
Some may say that @NorthantsRaynet are a very dedicated bunch of radio "geeks"..and that is probably very true! The team has a wide range of tools available, and depending on the situation will depend very much on what they will employ to get the job done. #VolunteersWeek#RAYNET
Today we are focusing on @NorthantsRaynet Northants RAYNET is one of the longest serving groups that we have had the pleasure to work with. They have been providing emergencycommunications for #Northants for over 30 years! They have a wealth of experience! #VolunteersWeek#RAYNET
RT @jobayeshopp: Yay. I am now a @theRSGB radio amateur!! After all these many years working alongside @NorthantsRaynet !
Now need to find my callsign and then get a radio! 😊 🎙
