At Northern Elementary, we: • Have fun learning • Always do our best • Work together • Keep a positive attitude • Show respect for differences • Go NIGHTHAWKS!
Today Dr. Richmond and Mrs. Weeks hosted a coffee with the principals session to discuss @Super_GCS Dr. Whitney Oakley’s #bettertogether platform and gain valuable feedback from our stakeholders. Thank you for attending and sharing your thoughts!! @GCSchoolsNC
Today was remarkable! Some of the NES staff used their day to volunteer in the food pantry at Greensboro Urban Ministry. To whom much is given much is expected. Our community needs us and NES is answering the call! ❤️❤️❤️ -not pictured Mrs. Dumond and Ms. Davis-Johnson.
Northern would like to congratulate and say we are so proud of 4th grade teacher Mr. Michael Praylor. He graduated last month from High Point University with a master's degree in Educational Leadership and School Administration!! Proud of you sir!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👏👏👏👏👨🎓👨🎓👨🎓
NEWS!! There was an elf that has been causing mischief all over the school-turning over desks, leaving rooms in disarray, etc. Dr. R set a trap and we are happy to report that this morning the elf was found sleeping after being caught. He has since boarded one-way flight North.
Today Mrs. Iseley’s made state cookies just in time for an afternoon snack! Students decorated cookies as they discussed regions of the state complete with the Sandhills, Piedmont, and mountains. Thank you also to some great parent helpers!
Let’s talk about grade level standards a grade above and a grade below! This way we can better understand the needs of our school as a whole! #verticalplanningpart1@Super_GCS @SZendle
Through a partnership with @ConeHealth, the @NorthernGCS PTA held an assembly for students called “Backpack Buddies- Unpacking Our Feelings.” This program allowed students to learn some strategies for navigating all the feelings that kids feel daily.
All in the data! Our AP and CF lead a workshop with teachers yesterday about projections, proficiency, growth, and where students are curry performing. This is our year! @Super_GCS @SZendle
Congratulations to Megan Hamilton, a kindergarten teacher assistant at Northern Elementary, who was named the November GCS Employee of the Month! Recently, Ms. Hamilton saved the life of a child who was choking during lunch. Read her story here: https://t.co/p8Jl0V5y9c
Mrs. Iseley's class started today with a fun blended learning twist to a CKLA task that brought the learning to life AND engaged students. Students used a Google JamBoard to identify traits and tasks of people who lived in the middle ages. @BlendedGCS
