@MargoinWNC So interesting because your image shows that NC actually is above the national average for math.... The NC property tax rate is 0.8% with 35 states having a *higher* rate. https://t.co/GS6ELiLVBD
@nckhui No child should *ever* be denied a meal while at school. I know comments were made about having parents sign up for free/reduced lunch, but many families don't qualify, but still face food insecurity. Even if from a wealthy family, a child should never be denied a meal!
@nckhui Please don't forget that...THEY CHANGED THE READING TESTS AND THE SCORING DURING COVID (2020-2021)
They made it LOOK like more kids are failing , but you can't exactly compare different tests.
@Angela_Watson Yes. If we pay for it, why would the school/district/county/state?? .... I'm addition, it makes others that don't (or can't) spend their money or personal time look like they don't care or are bad at their job.
@__2Christine@FixingEducation Ooo 6.5 hours 185 days a year??? Where do I find that job? I'm a teacher and work 200 required days that are typically 9.5- 10.5 hours long!
@Becky4Wake@M4LWakeNC Are you basing your claim on reading EOG scores? If so, please remember that they CHANGED the grading for reading EOG in ~ 2021.... So the % of proficient students before the pandemic and after isn't exactly compatible because they changed the test and the way it was graded.
WHY CLASS SIZE MATTERS #EdChat
- Limited time for personalized student support and relationship building
- Increased behavior challenges
- Higher workload with more assignments and tests to assess and provide feedback
- Reduced chances for enrichment activities
@NiPath7@nckhui If a teacher can't teach because they are doing all the things those individuals should be doing it means less actual teaching.... So, yes it does have academic implications.
