Today. August 18.

Yesterday I shared a proposal for August 18.
Today I’m simply doing what I said I would.

I’m outside, AWROOOing as loud as I can, with gratitude for everyone who has helped build and protect this community, and for all those who have been hurt simply for being who they are.

This remains just a personal action. Nothing more.
If it resonates with you, you’re welcome to join in your own way. If not, that’s completely fine too.

From this day on, I’ll leave March 23 to the bio puppies.

We are the human pet players, and we deserve a day of our own. It’s a kink for many, a fetish for others, but for many of us it’s a lot more, it’s an identity. We know we are not real dogs and that it’s a role-play identity, but one thing is a fact without a doubt: We are a community!

Thank you to everyone who has shown kindness and support.

Tomorrow August 18

This date was chosen because it falls in the middle of August 17–19, 2001, when the first International Puppy Contest was held an important moment in the early history of the modern pup community.

This is simply a proposal. Nothing more.

At a time when many pups, pets, critters, handlers, and members of our community still face misunderstanding and stigma, I felt it could be meaningful to have a gentle day of our own to show our paws, be visible in a PAWsitive way, and stand together.

Tomorrow, I’ll go outside and AWROOO as loud as I can with gratitude for everyone who has helped build, support, and protect this community, and for those who have been hurt simply for being who they are.

Some of us will do it together, and I warmly invite any pup, pet, critter, handler, or ally who feels called to join in their own way.

Whether we call it International Puppy Day, Critters Day, something else, or nothing at all, is up to the community. For me, August 18 will simply be a day to celebrate where we came from, who we are, and the peoples helping shape where we’re going.

Tomorrow, I’ll proudly AWROOO with anyone who wants to join me.
