Athletic Directors: You can make your own, but make sure you have some kind of checklist to ensure you get everything done pre- and post-season this fall. Here is an example of the checklist we used "back in the day". Maybe it can help someone out today.
Prioritize people: Learn what drives your teammates, address their needs, and bring people together. The best leaders don’t just inspire; they understand.

Dear 2027s,
I know June 15th is a very exciting step in your recruitment process. Remember that each journey is unique to the individual and to not live in comparison to others.
Also if you want to make a good impression to schools, make sure you have the correct school and coaches in the emails you send in preparation of June 15th 😂
5 days to go until we can talk to class of 2027. Some will get calls, some won’t but most of you will end up having conversations of some sort with coaches at some point. Do your homework and ask thoughtful questions.
Don’t Ask:
-What is a typical day like. We hate answering this, it’s so boring and probably very similar everywhere (classes lift soccer meetings study eat sleep). Anyone who is really intent on playing at the next level should already probably know what the life is like.
-Describe your culture (there’s not one single coach who will say their culture stinks! And some do)
Do Ask:
-What are specific examples of how your culture is unique and positive
-Philosophy on the Transfer Portal
-# recruits/# in your position
-Communication/feedback with players..how provided & how often
-Travel roster size
-Fitness testing/repercussions
We love when players ask the hard and insightful questions, even program specific ones as opposed to cookie cutter. Take some time preparing these for each convo.
