Just a guy in the woods hacking on personal projects. Philology, software/game dev, monastic (Benedictine/Catholic) spirituality, and reverse engineering.
i am becoming sincerely concerned that a number of people i know have suffered something that is symptomatically indistinguishable from cranial trauma after prolonged claude use. many of the them are executives
Plot twist: Another person chimed in wanting to know the same thing. It's our head of AI. He doesn't believe me. So I'm going to document and measure it.
Someone at work today was talking about how clean my PRs are compared to others and wanted to know what secret harness sauce I'm using. It's just vanilla Claude Code CLI. People are overthinking their setups and shipping worse stuff for no good reason.
This reading from Ephesians in the cycle for Compline (Night Prayer) works as a continual reminder for me that anger has its place. We should be angry about genuine evils. But we also shouldn't allow it to grow into wrath or lead to other sins.

Meanwhile, half the libraries people include don't even have a real security disclosure process at all. The issues don't get addressed and they definitely don't get CVEs.
No, # of CVEs disclosed does not correlate with risk at all. If anything, it COULD mean reduced risk.
- more code being shipped
- more people looking
- better tools for finding bugs
- more people care about filing for CVEs
Do not take technical advice from VC. CVEs mean nothing
@ViridianGames It seems worth trying. The combat of Ultima VII wasn't the most polished part to begin with. And with these sorts of things, you can always make it a toggle-able option.
Doing some security research stuff, Claude hallucinated that it was running in a sandbox with no network access and decided that it couldn't install a package to see if the vuln still exists in the latest version. Is this alignment?
Domine, labia mea aperies.
Et os meum annuntiabit laudem tuam.
Lord, open my lips.
And my mouth will proclaim your praise.
Normally said at the start of Lauds (Morning Prayer). In a group, it's done call and response style. Usually with a small thumb-cross of the lips.
