It’s sad to see so many people, & the media, continue, or even begin, to blame the Annabelle doll for the cause of Dan’s death. So many times we’ve heard, “that’s to be expected”. “Expecting” inconsiderate responses, is the real issue. We shouldn’t expect, normalize, or accept, a person’s tragic death to be fallaciously and encouragingly exploited.
The truth is, Dan was a person, with a family, and many friends, who sadly passed away while working. The public, who didn’t know him personally, should remember Dan for giving people the opportunity to walk through the historic Warren Museum, who, otherwise, would not be able to. Publicly, it should only be a tribute to Dan’s dedication to the paranormal community.
Rest easy Dan
In 2022, the lobotomy room was discovered and @jigsawgirl1 took a sledgehammer to the drywall. FYI, the boots in the wall was the coolest find. The boots were from a patient. How many people find it interesting that they chose the operating room for their encasement? #norwichstatehospital #lobotomy #surgery #mentalhealth #MentalHealthAwareness
The boots in the wall discovered when uncovering the lobotomy/procedure room in 2022. They were moved to this spot when Lippitt was renovated into the Norwich Clinic. The tradition of putting shoes in walls is for good luck & to protect against evil. These boots were originally placed in a different location when Lippitt was constructed in 1920. Similar boots have been found in Gallup, Mitchell, Admin, & Pathway.
The boots are being kept in a private collection. #norwichstatehospital
Shannen’s post-op appointment with her cardiac surgeon @JordanBloomMD went well! She will be back to researching the paranormal, educating, and preserving the rich history of American state institutions, in a short time.
Dr. Bloom’s expertise and skill is, arguably, unmatched. He will forever be a member of our family. @MGHHeartHealth@MGHThorAortic
@Taco_Bell_Mel94 Unfortunately it’s not. 😔 The new owner is working on getting a grant to clean the brownfield. It has to be cleaned before any activity can happen. It is no longer under private ownership, who had more freedom to allow guests.
Lippitt first floor solarium southwest 2022. This is where Dr. Bryan first made his presence known during an investigation. It was captured on an iPhone and not heard for three months. He said “Be careful” as our friend Stephanie was skipping to the chair late one night. It marked the beginning of many interactions with Dr. Bryan. He passed away at the hospital in 1944 and Lippitt was his baby. 🩵 #norwichstatehospital
I, Shannen, successfully underwent open heart surgery on May 13th! If you recall, @icolinbrowen (The Paranormal Files), linked a GoFund Me in his video from Norwich. His subscriber family kindle donated nearly 5k 🥹, which has gone towards medical expenses & lost wages from the long term disability needed after short term runs out. No words can express the gratitude I have for each of you, for contributing and who reached out to send well wishes. My surgeon is one of roughly 15 surgeons in the country who perform the rare complex procedure I had. It is the only one that gives a full life expectancy. In a country whose cost of healthcare is outrageous, (mine cost 800k), it is individuals like you who help ease the anxiety of those of us who wonder how they can support their families.
Thank you is not enough. I love all of you and I’m forever indebted to you and Colin!! 🩵
Happy Memorial Day! Today we recognize all who perished while serving our country. We especially recognize the staff of NSH who bravely fought in WWII, leaving the hospital severely understaffed. Dr. Bryan & the staff, with the help of military CPS Unit 068-01, created an environment that benefited the patients & changed the future operation of the facility.
The Mitchell building is a colonial revival, built in 1924 & is the twin to the Gallup building. They housed the well behaved male and female patients for half a century, until the beginning of deinstitutionalization.
In Sept of 1949, a hydrotherapy unit was added to Mitchell and Gallup, allowing for ease of access to therapeutic treatment.
10% of Mitchell sits in the city of Norwich, next to the Lippitt building. Thames River Place, LLC., did not seek interest in its right and signed full ownership over to Preston Redevelopment Agency.
The beds shown in the photos still sit in Mitchell and you can still take a walk through a section of the tunnel system from the basement of Gallup. (Accessing these buildings is illegal).
Mitchell and Gallup have both been abated and gutted, and are the last of three buildings awaiting demolition.

How amazing is this canvas painting of the admin building???? The artist is Lacey Beals, the sister of Norwich’s last caretaker, and NSHFA founder, Shannen.
Do you think we should do a series??
