The EU is planning new visa restrictions: Russians could lose access to the Schengen Area

On October 14, the Council of the EU will discuss introducing Limited Territorial Validity (LTV) visas for Russians at a meeting in Brussels.

These visas allow holders to stay only in the countries specified on the visa, rather than throughout the entire Schengen Area.

For example, a holder of a French LTV visa would be able to visit France only, but not other Schengen countries.

Earlier, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo proposed completely suspending the issuance of tourist visas to Russians.

Poland, Sweden and Estonia also support tightening visa restrictions.
