The amount of turf loss makes me assume that there is a fair amount of ammonium nitrogen in the soil from the diseased patch of turf. We will power rake, aerate and seed the area and I will post an update. Aerate your lawns!! #fairyring #soilchemistry #aerate

Due to sandy soil we have a puffball fungi that created quite a bit of fairy ring diseased turf as you can see in the photo. Our type 1 fairy ring has a parasite that has caused the turf to die off and the ground to become thatch heavy and hydrophobic. #fairyring #soilscience
