Ohio’s gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton was raped by her stepfather when she was a child. He was indicted for raping her, released on bond but fled to Pennsylvania and was never tried, dying in 2004. Her mother remained married to this man. Her mother lost custody of Amy and her brother following the indictment. Amy has not seen her mother since the indictment, some 50 years ago.

Now Vivek Ramaswarmy is using her 82 year old mother in an attack ad that starts airing in Ohio tomorrow, paying $4 million for the ad. Her mother accuses Acton of lying.

No one should condone this ad. Ramaswarmy has said he will not pull it. That’s extremely shameful behavior and goes DIRECTLY to Ramaswarmy’s bad character.

In 2020, Tommy Tuberville promised to donate “every dime” of his $174,000 Senate salary to Alabama veterans and their families. A June investigation found no evidence he followed through, a pledge now worth roughly $1 million.

Tuesday night, after a reporter asked about it, Tuberville told staff to remove him. Then he called the media “socialists” and “communists.”
