People see the Friday night lights. They see the wins, the losses, the play calls, the X’s and O’s.
What they don’t always see is everything that happens when the lights are off.

A lot of people think high-level football coaching is a Monday–Friday job. It’s not.

It’s 7 days a week.

It’s game planning.
It’s watching film.
It’s going to feeder schools.
It’s developing players.
It’s meetings.
It’s preparing practice.
It’s taking care of details that nobody ever sees.

And sometimes, it’s Saturday morning, when most players and fans are still at home sleeping, resting, traveling or doing whatever they do on their day off…

…and you’re carrying football uniforms to the laundry room.

Not glamorous. Not something that shows up on the scoreboard. Not something that makes the highlight reel.

But it’s part of the job.

Because coaching isn’t just about X’s and O’s.

It’s about doing whatever needs to be done to take care of your program and your players.

Thank you to all the high school coaches out here grinding on Saturday. Even when nobody is watching.

7 days. 24 hours. Whatever it takes.
