Since I first pointed to this downtown site for the Royals in 2017, Michael Collins's article on LinkedIn is the best summary of why it makes more sense than any of the previously discussed "finalists." I'm happy to see this site gaining momentum. @nlbmprez@royals https://t.co/RMwlkhcFAh
If Harris had won, this poll would read: “What are you most excited about in 2026?” Instead, we get a fear checklist. Not because the Star is interested in what people are actually thinking, but because "journalism" circa 2025 is about driving an agenda and driving clicks. Fear drives both.
This is a great example of public “not my money” math versus “coming out of my own pocket and if I can’t make the payments they come and take my house” math. It’s also a great example of a negotiating table where you have professional negotiators charged with generating profits versus professional politicians charged with collecting talking points for the next election cycle.
A distillation of my STAR bond calculations from this morning's @kcmotalkradio segment: The math doesn’t work: Kansas’ STAR bonds alone can’t fund a @Chiefs stadium via @bcp_policy https://t.co/hpaAw3GAWK
The @Chiefs and @Royals moving might do more for the city and better honor the legacies of their founders than staying at the Truman Sports Complex. https://t.co/81OuulPFVc
Just to set the record straight before anyone asks, the person(s) who registered "https://t.co/IDIPXejdQ7" a couple of days ago was not me. It's someone else's turn.
In view of Mr. Gates' suggestion that the best place for a new Royals ballpark is at 18th and Paseo, where there is currently a bus barn, this seems to be a good time to retweet this:

@D_DWDesign @jeff_rosen88 While I luv The K, and I hate being selfish, a downtown stadium, particularly in-and-around the Historic 18th & Vine District, as proposed by @NotCostner, would be great for the NLBM and certainly spur development and create jobs in the urban core!
Keep Matriculating Those Incentives Down the Field! Among the top 10 cities in the US for growth and liveability, only two have professional baseball or football franchises. Three, if you count the University of Texas at Austin. https://t.co/2XUp1OwQEz
Just a quick and probably unnecessary public service announcement regarding @USPS. When you spend the $10 on Priority Mail, allow 6 business days instead of the 2 on the receipt and tracking number. And no, it is not refundable when they fail to meet their commitment. Perhaps fixing USPS can be @elonmusk's next project.
A news reporter asked Michael Jordan if he thought the ’90s Bulls could beat LeBron’s Lakers.
MJ: Yes.
Reporter: By how much?
MJ: Two or three points.
Reporter: Why so close?
MJ: Most of us are almost 60 now.
