🔊In total, between July 2020 to Feb. 2023 the human rights monitoring group "ActivistsNotExtremists" has documented at least 392 refusals to hold peaceful protests, marches and single-person pickets in 22 places.

The attacks on Zhaslan are linked to his fight for equal access for people with disabilities. There is reason to believe that the authorities won’t investigate and the perpetrators won’t be found because of 1000 arbitrary reasons that prevent them from finding those guilty‼️ 3/3

On 21 July 2022 after 23:00, unknown persons broke the kitchen window of human rights defender Zhaslan #KEREY and apparently tried to break the window in his room as well. 🆘After Zhaslan started shouting, the unknown persons ran away. 1/3

On 19 May 2022, a woman in a car hit Zhaslan, who was in a wheelchair, causing him to fly 10 metres towards the main road. The woman who hit Zhaslan did not help him.🚨 Moreover, she called him "insane" for recording the violation of the law. 2/3

📢Gulzada #YAKUBOVA, resident of #Shymkent city located in #Kainarbulak, spoke about her son Orynbai #KURMANGAZY, born in 1999, who had a 3rd degree disability. He took part in a peaceful rally on 5 Jan 2022 near City Hall. He was shot and died on the way to the hospital. 1/3

According to his mother, the young man had no weapons and did not take part in the riots. After 6 months, Orynbay was declared a suspect under Art. 272 “participation in mass riots”. Authorities still have not answered why Gulzada #YAKUBOVA lost her son.🆘 2/3

On 14 July, the relatives were detained for allegedly staging an illegal rally. Sleeping outside for 3 days because the authorities do not listen - is this an illegal rally⁉️ If the authorities had initially conducted a fair investigation, no one would have come to #Astana. 4/5

The Kazakhstani authorities stated that they were persecuting some “terrorists” but in reality, they are politically persecuting peaceful participants of the protests, human rights defenders and civil activists. 🆘6/6
