just going to write this one straight off the dome, not going to proofread it so it may be a little rough.
my biggest on-chain catch was launchcoin.
i bidded it sub 1m. it was still apart of clout at the time and the ticker was pasternak.
i initially bidded it because i saw that ben was still building something when everyone had moved on from clout.
when i realized that it was transitioning to what should've be an onchain vc, i bidded even more.
the idea was delusional, but enough people believed it eventually, it almost worked if it wasn't for ben's horrible execution.
but i believed in a delusional idea and it almost worked.
the only time since then when i've truly had the same feeling is with solana:Hy1LfQLL4zLQihmiQKZm7DQzXm5K8aVSfKtdHFYXbKMm - @AmoebaFarm.
the ability to directly trade the price of compute during an ai renaissance just makes so much sense to me, and as people have seen recently, it also makes sense to some of the world's biggest financial institutions such as @BlackRock.
I'm betting on a small team building the foundation, and then getting institutional help down the line.
i have a lot of s-tier traders following me and i encourage you to dd the project yourself.
i will be delusional about this trade, just like i was with launchcoin, and once again it will be 0 or vallhalla.
A quick stream of consciousness.
Many who are interested in our product mainly think about compute, and this is for good reason, as it is a very hot topic. However, we must emphasize that, as a platform, we are not limited to that. Our goal is mainly to target secondary industrial commodities.
As economic and industrial complexity continues to rise and as supply chains grow increasingly complex, there are industrial goods that are commoditized as inputs for other complex goods. Our oracle attempts to basket these items into categories we feel represent their respective industries well and then give individuals the opportunity to write and trade synthetic futures that settle on it. Producers and consumers of these industrial commodities will also be able to hedge using these markets, protecting them from the boom and bust cycles that currently dominate many of these industries.
A great example of this is the success of the polysilicon futures in China, a secondary industrial good that has become commoditized. This Guangzhou contract now trades as a liquid benchmark for China’s solar economy, despite settling on a produced good rather than a raw input.
Today we introduced a new index into our markets, one that isn’t on the compute side, a battery basket. We chose batteries because of their more interesting price history, deeper and less opaque markets, and their importance in the modern industrial economy. Our plan is to now consolidate and hold off on launching our solar panel module index and our actuator index.
China has placed deep emphasis on “The New Three” green technologies, and so the industries contained within this now suffer larger boom and bust cycles. Lithium carbonate, a good proxy, rose roughly 14x from mid-2020 to a peak near ¥590k/t in November 2022, then fell below ¥100k/t in about thirteen months.
Lithium carbonate and polysilicon have futures, while the cells and wafers made from them don’t. Batteries and memory are the first two.
Artificial Intelligence is a national heavy industry that builds heavy industry. Increased intelligence in a society should lead to nothing less, and in the United States, where reindustrialization has become policy, that is the whole opportunity.
To do that, agents need clean ways to interact with their environments to produce effective outcomes. A standardized price they can act on, a hedge they can hold, and a way to commit to future delivery in a contractual, clean manner can only come about through liquid non-opaque markets. Most of these markets today are a phone call.
For AI to plan and procure in secondary industrial markets, it needs a harness that allows it to properly and cleanly interact with other players, where information being as transparent as possible brings about more efficient markets.
That harness is what we are building. The first users are people hedging batteries and memory. The users after that will not be people.
Petri v0.1.16 is live on mainnet, and there’s a third index.
BATX: Industrial battery-cell prices, next to RAMX/NANDX. It includes 4 buckets, LFP storage, LFP EV, ternary prismatic, ternary pouch.
Web proofs: prove what a website showed you, including a page behind your own sign-in, without sharing your password or session. Built on TLSNotary. You sign in yourself, then an agent of your choice captures the proof.
Private email proofs: a zero-knowledge proof of the price lines in a DKIM-signed quote, made on your own computer. Reveals those lines and the signer, nothing else from your inbox.
In the TUI: new Evidence tab to sign in, prove, preview what gets disclosed, and submit. Attach a proof to a source find with one command.
RAMX now prices four DRAM chip types. No more modules.
Get ready. Tomorrow at 8pm EST sharp, data submission for the oracle begins, opening our November markets.
Also, we have a little surprise coming alongside this launch we know you guys will love.
Introducing the new Petri TUI. This allows users to connect their favorite agent harness to our oracle data submission pipeline. Individuals will be able to set agents up to gather information to submit and earn rewards for doing so.
The Dec 1st expiry markets will be the first to use this open oracle system, and we will officially be opening it up Tuesday at 8pm EST.
*Note* We also fixed issues some users encountered with Phantom while staking. So go ahead and try again on https://t.co/DzUA6nHwDy!
Today, we bring staking to $AMBA!
Users will now be able to earn rewards by sending AMBA to our vault on https://t.co/DzUA6nHwDy. Rewards will be from two different sources.
1. The $AMBA token transfer fee will have its funds redirected towards this.
2. A share of our Amoeba Liquidity Vault earnings. This is in USDC so we will be purchasing $AMBA on market with this to send to loyal stakers.
More on this tomorrow, alongside information on the oracle.
Introducing $AMBA rewards for LP providers.
As before, on https://t.co/DzUA6nHwDy users can provide USDC that will be used to help market make and provide liquidity for our platform. Previously, users could only earn in USDC, but we are now sending users an $AMBA reward on top of this.
Total earned $AMBA will be dependent upon how much USDC users provide as a % of the total pooled liquidity.
And for holders, we will be providing more information about future staking tonight. Stay tuned!
Feels great to announce $AMBA Trading has resumed on @FOMO!
Sorry for any inconvenience caused, and a big shoutout to the team at FOMO for getting this issue resolved.
