A few observations from watching #Texans and #Panthers joint practice with a legend:
- Physical practice from both teams. It works out well when teams practice with the same style and aggression as opposed to the teams having different approaches toward practice. Probably why there weren't any fights to be honest.
- The Texans defense didn't allow Bryce Young much time at all. A number of dropbacks were would be sacks, and it wasn't just from the outside with Anderson and Hunter. (Hunter was incredible today)
- Houston's secondary was STICKY. S Calen Bullock (who should be more well know around the league) picked Young 2x.
- Jimmy Horn Jr. who has had a good camp, put on some weight, had the play of the day for the Panthers. He went up and caught a TD over the middle in tight coverage and held onto the contested catch. It was the final play of practice.
- Stroud looks in more control at the LOS. He's making all the calls and setting the protections. You can see he's growing with Caley.
- Kayshon Boutte was in pads, but working on the side. The Texans are acclimating him the right way and taking their time. The heat is actually a factor in this. Stroud I know likes Boutte.
- David Montgomery is just a good football player. He'll change this offense.
- It's fun seeing Jayce Horn in the slot. Not sure how much it's used this year, but he's such a good blitzer.
- Texans OL is starting to gel. You could tell today.
- I watched practice with my man @SteveSmithSr89 He loves Jonathan Brooks and thinks he changes this offense. To be more specific, loved how Brooks lowered his shoulder on a run before going out of bounds. A good sign he feels comfortable with his knee.
