@twitandrewking That’s a great shot, Andrew. I was by there today and they are moving quickly . I spent many mornings and evenings there, and it’s sad to see them go. Looking forward to them opening up again nearby this spring.
@twitandrewking One Garfield Cab Sauv, svp. I still scan the bottom shelf of the chip aisle hoping a portal opened up containing those giant bags of Garfield tortilla chips.
@GraemeNichols@condorsottawa Thanks for sharing. I had the pleasure of meeting him and his family a few times on his Mission to a Million. I can only hope that I can have a fraction of an impact on others that he has had. It lasts forever. What an inspiration and absolute legend. My condolences.
@twitandrewking A stained glass window sign from the conservatory found a new home at the Glatt estate sale a few weeks ago. Well maintained and still stunning.
@twitandrewking I remember when the Hogs Back McDs looked exactly like this and I planted a fry in the planter. The French fry tree never grew, unfortunately.
@twitandrewking Haven’t been out that way in years but maybe it’s the modular housing units for Ottawa Community Housing that was announced a while back?
@mchkzn Loved that place for a snack before catching the wrestling shows on Rue Berri 20 years ago. Pocket of warmed ketchup under the cheese on the cheeseburger was genius.
@EricMacramalla Same same. Scott seems like it was designed to create congestion. I have no other explanation. One positive been the new turn lane onto IPD from Scott. My hood is boxed in by those two and any little bit to ease getting in and out helps.
@mchkzn Yup, the book store was next door, and beside that was a work world (prev. paper world, prev. Canada trust). The book store and Work World units were taken over when the grocery unit was expanded to become the shoppers. The entrance on that side was also relocated at that time.
@twitandrewking Lunch at the Split crow, afternoon tour of the HMCS Sackville, then an evening at Bearly’s House of Blues are a few things I would try to fit in.
@twitandrewking About to spend two weeks next door to a former toilet paper engineer from Irving. Will report back with his CPW (cost per wipe) calculations.
