In which we linger at Longa and even outstay our friends (in mitigation, they would otherwise have missed their train).

Striking, engaging & sometimes poignant images here.

Feck. Slate's gone & the quest to find a roofer to do a small repair, preferably a reliable one & before too much promised rain gets in, goes on. And on. And on.
Rate it as stressful as the 8 o'clock GP surgery phone scramble 😬
Latest post up on the blog poses the question "Is it swell and the Swill?", with a look at the new Pig and Swill in Victoria Park, Cardiff.

@Food_A4thought In South Devon. Tracked it down to the producer's (Bollhayes) online shop afterwards but it was sold out :( Going to keep our eyes peeled, felt it almost had a French cidre vibe.

@SolicitingFlava The brik tart the parfait was in had a crunchy, punchy topping too. Those guys really know what they're doing & it showed over & over.
Hiraeth, (n): a sense of longing for finished dishes on a tasting menu
Could've cancelled the rest of the dishes & repeated these two over & over - except we'd have missed the excellent others.
First time we've been to Hiraeth & won't be the last.
@SolicitingFlava An excellent menu!
Ha, had the tofu dish! Delicious & a joy, contrast with previous bland sufferings. Karage was well flavoured, marinated as the omni version, furikake & a crisp coat. Piece size made for good texture. Parfait was creamy as if whipped, no dreaded chalkiness.
