@JBBaby8840@NetsCifer He's got an NBA body already, so that's a plus. And his passing is really good, and great for a big man. He could be a bruiser down low with Sharpe.
@MidwestHook@NetsKingdomAJ Roster not finished, but as currently constructed, that's a good bet. Too bad Draft Kings doesn't have a "barring no roster changes" section for over/under wins.
@brooklynsbeat I think this situation specifically was that he wanted to go #1 or at least thought he should go #1, not specifically about Utah, though Utah being Utah might have had something to do with it. All speculation anyways. Until the expose comes out when he asks out in a few years.
@JoshWoolever 1. Roster isn't finished. Could get better. Could get worse
2. No teams, or at least less teams, will be tanking.
3. They have no rim protector at all.
4. Depending on rookies and second year players can be a little tricky.
Just some things to consider.
I'm optimistic.
@Luigi__457@Nettorious To be fair, Marks usually gets his rim protector late first/early second round of the draft. See Jarret Allen and Nic Claxton. So it's a bit surprising that he didn't try to get one this year because right now we have none at all. We'll see what happens.
Personally, I may have drafted Darius Acuff BUT the reasons the Nets drafted Mikel Brown instead of Darius Acuff are pretty simple.
The Nets are betting on the higher ceiling. Mikel Brown possesses rare size, skill & athleticism that is hard to find at PG. Mikel Brown is a better rim finisher and projects to be a much better defender than Darius Acuff. There is real possibility of MBJ turning into a two way star player. Offensively, scouts project MBJ to be a more willing off-ball player and if he can learn to play under control and add more deceleration and probing/passing to his half court game - he could become one of the most deadly players in the NBA.
Now while I am not sold on who actually end up being the better player - I think Acuff will be better out of the gate, BUT this isn’t a one year race. Brown may need a little more time to adjust to the NBA game, but I think if all goes well, Mikel Brown will be the face of the Nets franchise for a long time 💯
@brooklynsbeat@JBBaby8840 Exactly! If it's reporting and not fandom, why wasn't it "reported" earlier? It's clearly propaganda. Don't get me wrong. Propaganda can be based in truth. But conflicting propaganda can't both be true.
@_k_3424@BobSacamano_5 Why is it so personal with you? Bob makes a rational comment and you jump down his throat. I hate to break it to you Sean Marks is NOT our Lord and Savior. It is not blasphemy to criticize his decisions. I support him more than not, but he is not perfect.
@brooklynsbeat I understand your logic. But we're talking about WINNING a 2nd round series after the season we just had? Baby steps. No one thinks Randle is taking us to the promised land. Depending on other moves, we can hope to make the playoffs this year. Anything more is gravy. I like gravy
