Your guide to what's missing from Disney+ and why! This account is NOT run or endorsed by Disney. This is an unnofficial fan account dedicated to Disney+.
I think most of the Disney films missing from Disney+ on 11/12 will be for the following three reasons:
1) Now-controversial and antiquated depictions of non-white races and cultures
2) Movies which were co-productions with other companies where Disney does not own all rights
Thrilled to be bringing BRICK to Blu-ray on 1/7 in a brand new 4K restoration supervised by @rianjohnson plus audio commentary, deleted & extended scenes, and more! https://t.co/mS9vpgA4u1
Leanne has, for the entire past year, been posting something she loves about TLJ every single day. This kind of beautiful creative positivity is what SW fandom is all about. I feel like a spectator at the end of a marathon cheering her across the finish line 🎉
@StevenSokulski Yes, but not always. For example, I highly doubt that Disney has licensed Toy Story 4 or the 2019 remake of The Lion King to any other services. Those are simply too new aka still in their theatrical and/or home video release windows.

@livingfordisney Up & Toy Story 4 are 100% owned by Disney so I’m sure both will end up on the site soon. The other films you tweeted about are co-productions with other companies so there may be negotiations that need to happen first, but I feel pretty confident they will eventually be released.
@TheSpoilist @jeawallace I agree with you. I think it - and all of the films on this list - are part of cinematic history. Now, does that mean it should be released on Disney+? Not necessarily. That may be the wrong platform but there should be a place for these films to be seen in the proper context.
@TheSpoilist Thanks! I can see how one might think at first glance that this was coming from a place of entitlement or negativity, but really I’m just trying to figure out which content is being excluded and why. I’m fascinated by the decision-making process.
@sircritic @Gregoriancant Another conspicuous omission is 1997’s Tarzan. That was a pretty big hit and pretty much every animated Disney movie prior to 2018 is there. Very weird that Tarzan is missing.
It. Is. Time. From Victory Through Air Power to The Lion King (2019), check out basically everything *NOT* coming to #DisneyPlus in the U.S. on November 12.
@Playoff_G Yeah i know how you feel. Making this thread had me feeling super nostalgic. I’m holding out hope that some of these will see the light of day sooner rather than later.
