Not actually Executive Director of @SovereignGrace. Parody account, but I am supremely gifted to lead. No 3rd party investigations. #sovereigngracechurches
Join me in praying for Russell Tusing this week (FORMER! SGC Pastor), who's in court this week for his crimes against children. #NeverForget#sovereigngracechurches
One of my greatest regrets in ministry is not doing enough to restore CJ’s reputation enough to be in the room with his political hero. #sovereigngracechurches

Mark Prater, Executive Director of Sovereign Grace Churches published a video on 9/30/2024 where he spoke about a sex scandal involving a well-known pastor that Prater humbly refrained from mentioning by name. The man he was speaking of was Steve Lawson. (I'm not breaking any news here, Lawson's name is all over the internet.) Prater seemingly just realized that sexual scandals can be utilized as a teaching moment for members of Sovereign Grace Churches.
I find it hypocritical that after numerous sexual scandals spanning the years, involving pastors of Sovereign Grace, which Prater has done his best to keep from public view, he now chooses to utilize Steve Lawson's fall from grace.
I could list several Sovereign Grace pastors that would make for great teachable moments, but I utilized the most recent man I know about - Russell Tusing from the now-defunct Sovereign Grace Church of LaGrange, GA.
Russell was arrested earlier this year and charged with sexually abusing his 13-year-old daughter. Russell remains in the county jail awaiting trial.
Prater maintains silence.

Sovereign Grace Churches celebrates 40 years of ministry this fall. That’s 40 years of Christ’s people being treated as collateral damage for the sake of CJ Mahaney’s leadership and legacy.
In SGC we know how to handle these situations: Close the church, take the money, and most importantly, refuse third party investigation! We’re happy to have Tommy set up a consultation meeting. #sovereigngracechurches
The church website for Sovereign Grace LaGrange appears to have been taken down, as well as their Facebook page. We drove by the church today and the sign has been removed out front.
