Now that @CitImmCanada is trying out online citizenship testing, I hope they will eventually consider cheaper and more convenient online language testing like the @DuolingoENTest as well #Canadaimmigration #CanadaPR #ExpressEntry

I took the @CELPIPTest yesterday, after it snowed in the morning, and while I'm glad there's a 🇨🇦 Canadian English test 👍🏻, I can't say it was the most pleasant experience 😕:

👟 20 mins: walking to test centre in the snow
⛔ 25 mins: waiting in the hall
✍️ 45 mins: check-in procedures
🖥️ 2.5 hrs: taking the test at an uncomfortable computer station with no bathroom breaks
🌃 20 mins: walking home in the dark
TOTAL: 4 hrs 20 mins

I will continue to donate to social justice causes and vote from afar. But the “freedom“ to do whatever I want—without sufficient resources, supports, and protections to live a happy life—is not the kind of freedom I want. Good luck, America. I’m oot.

I am not ashamed to be American. 🇺🇸I am so proud of my country’s values and accomplishments. But I am deeply embarrassed that we have allowed a system to emerge that produces so many people with such abhorrent values that they can sway political elections.

These people are the reason I’m immigrating to Canada 🇨🇦, where I feel freer than I’ve ever felt in my life. Free from the fear of harassment because of my sexual orientation, of being shot in public, of going bankrupt because of medical bills. Free to do cannabis if I want to.
