DON'T do an iPhone 15 Pro Max trade-in deal through a carrier.

It turns out going through Apple is a waaay better deal.

Why?

If you trade-in through Apple, you get instant trade-in credit (if you're a Verizon or T-Mobile customer).

This significantly reduces how much you would pay if you wanted to switch carriers later.

Here's an example using an iPhone 13 Pro Max as a trade-in device and saying you wanted to switch carriers after 1 year:
