On this day 15 years ago, Hall of Pretty Gooder Eric Hosmer made his MLB debut as the Royals took on the Oakland Athletics.

His first MLB at-bat came against Gio González. Hosmer went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in an eventual Royals loss, 3-2. Hosmer, who was swinging an extremely hot bat in the minors at the time, went on to play 128 games for the Royals that season, hitting 19 home runs with a 118 OPS+.
