This reminded me of a conversation I had with a fellow Eastern European friend. He made the argument that our idealised version of the U.S. is not false, it's just...outdated. It did exist at one point, decades ago, but not anymore.

So whoever made that meme hasn't updated their software in a long time. The average 25 yo in the U.S. doesn't own a house, is married or has kids. Sure, certain clusters and communities - like the Mormons, the Amish, rural, etc. may be like that, but that's not a big enough majority to justify an "average".

P.S.: Please, refrain from saying "oh, but my cousin is 25, owns a house and has 3 kids". Yeah, this one American buddy of mine is also fit and ripped, that doesn't negate the fact that 40% of Americans are obese, for example.
