Perhaps one of the oddest arguments I hear from the pregnancy help movement is that women “won’t come” to pregnancy help clinics if we abolish abortion. Of course the opposite is true. When abortion is no longer a legal option, what are the places that stand ready to help? PRCs.

I was a volunteer, not a delegate, the session was to start at 9am. We receive an action message late at night from @Not_a_Victim_ “Lining up the mics is a defensive strategy. When they see us at the mics, it silently tells them: ‘If you make a motion to gut our priority, we are strongly prepared at every mic to counter.’ “ early in the morning me and Jason, a delegate, rush to the convention by 7am. We will be there first. We then hear a report from the abolitionists on deck, “nobody else is here, it’s mostly empty”. But we were there. We were the first ones there. Enough to have 1-2 at every mic.

I go back to pick up the volunteers, close out and clean our AirBnB that was paid for by a generous donor. On the way back to the Convention center it was just me and my 11 year old daughter. I told her “this is what Christian activism looks like. We’re the first ones there, the last ones to leave. We work harder than everyone else. We show up in droves because we care more than everyone else. When we’re tired, we don’t grow weary because our purpose is greater and our savior and redeemer sustains us. We support each other, weep with each other, rejoice with each other, and fight harder than anyone else. We pray continually, and also pray over every chair, every piece of literature, and every conversation. We remind each other, win or ‘lose’ faithfulness to Christ was our goal, and His glory will be known because of His promise as a reward for faithfulness.”

The reality is that the convention saw our Christian faithfulness. The witness it carried brought fruit because of the One who we bare witness to. Christians. Use this example. We don’t need to deceive, or compromise. We need to be faithful, and we need to fight harder and care more. Most of all, we need to bring the word of the Living God UNASHAMEDLY.

Christ is sufficient. Scripture is sufficient. For politics too.
