In case people have forgotten-or simply weren't old enough to remember—this is also for the nearly 800,000 New Yorkers who recently Voted but were born in the early 2000s and have no firsthand memory of September 11, 2001.

The extremist ideology that drove the September 11 terrorist attacks did not disappear with the fall of the Twin Towers. More than two decades later, we are seeing that same kind of extremism promoted on American soil by people involved in Politics and those who openly celebrated the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks.

25 years ago we had visitors from out of town. They were my wife’s relatives. Two were teenagers who had never been to New York before. After they were here for a day we took them downtown to see the sights . we went to the top of the World Trade Center and we also went to the Statue of Liberty That was September 10, 2001. The next day was 9-11. It was a day I will never forget. We lived in Connecticut, but from the beach on Long Island sound you could see the smoke rising from the site of the World Trade Center. I knew many people who worked in those buildings. I also knew two people who were on flight 93 which went down in Pennsylvania after the passengers attacked the terrorists to prevent them from crashing the plane into the capitol. Altogether I knew 28 people who died on 911 They included neighbors and friends and former clients of mine. I remember the memorial services that followed. Everyone was a combination of angry, shocked and numb.

Now that it is 25 years later, I think it’s important that every American remember that day. the hateful ideology that drove those terrorists to kill 3000 Americans hasn’t changed. sadly there are still Islamic terrorists, Indeed countries, that chant death to America. Those of you who minimize the enormity of this crime should learn the truth about it. You should see the pictures of people killing themselves by jumping 100 stories down off the trade center in order to avoid the fires. you should read about the first responders who died when those buildings collapsed. They were brave men and women who died trying to save others. Remember, 911. never forget never forgive.

Why are foreigners working for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) as gatekeepers?

Two Nigerian-born U.S. immigration officers accused of an alleged multi‑year scheme to receive illegal gratuities in exchange for manipulating and expediting immigration applications.
Lukman Owolabi Ganiyu, a former Senior Immigration Services Officer with USCIS, and his associate Adeniyi Akeem Somoye were arrested on Sept. 2.

Investigators allege Ganiyu bypassed required interviews, supervisory oversight, jurisdictional restrictions, background checks and other standard USCIS procedures to speed up approvals for applicants. Prosecutors say that many of the beneficiaries were not eligible for the immigration benefits they received under federal law.

According to U.S. federal prosecutors, the two men are facing charges for an alleged bribery scheme in which they accepted nearly $960,000 in exchange for favors in the processing of immigration benefit applications, including citizenship cases.
According to the complaint, from December 2019 through March 2026, Ganiyu used his official position to approve immigration applications—including Forms I‑130: Petition for Alien Relative; I‑485: Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; I‑751: Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence; and N‑400: Application for Naturalization—in exchange for money.

Since you weren’t even born yet, I’m going to answer in good faith:

9/11 was America’s collective loss of innocence. In the decades prior, we’d won the Cold War by outspending the Soviets. We were the sole remaining superpower, and we were in a period of peace and economic prosperity.

Then, seemingly out of nowhere, we suffered a suicide attack with a higher death toll than Pearl Harbor. It struck a city on the US mainland, the first attack of that scale to hit CONUS since the Civil War.

In a violent flash, and on live television, our collective illusions of safety, security, and peace disappeared. For most Americans, it was the first time we ever had to contend with that scale of horror, and what it implied about the fragility of our way of life.

It was simultaneously sobering and terrifying. The American response was to launch two wars, and to restructure domestic life around the Government’s presumed duty to spy on everyone, so nothing like it could ever happen again.

I am not being hyperbolic when I say the America we grew up in—imagined or not—vanished on 9/11.

What you’re calling a “worshipful attitude” is a mix of reverence for the dead, and mourning for the loss of what existed before.

This Humble Elevator Technician Ran Two Miles Into The World Trade Center To Save Hundreds Trapped In Stalled Elevators.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 46-year-old elevator mechanic Charles "Chuck" Costello Jr. was working at a hotel in SoHo, twenty blocks north of the World Trade Center. It was a rare day for the New Jersey father of four to be working in Manhattan, but as a Boeing 767 slammed into the North Tower and hundreds of thousands of people began fleeing Lower Manhattan in terror, Costello did the unthinkable: he jumped out of his work site and ran over two miles straight toward the burning towers. When his coworker desperately urged him to stay back, the humble Navy veteran and devout Christian simply replied, "I'll be fine. Just keep your cellphone on," before disappearing into the thick smoke.
Inside the burning complex, stalled elevators had become horrific death traps, locking hundreds of panicked occupants inside pitch-black shafts filled with jet fuel smoke. While official contractors withdrew their crews from the chaos, Costello voluntarily charged into 1 World Trade Center to offer his technical expertise. Working alongside firefighters and police officers, who quickly came to know him as "the elevator man", he used his specialized tools and knowledge to override controls and manually force open jammed doors, freeing trapped workers line after line. After extricating countless people from the North Tower, he refused to seek safety for himself and instead ran directly into 2 World Trade Center to perform the exact same life-saving operation.
Costello’s tireless efforts saved hundreds of lives before the towers collapsed, but his refusal to abandon those trapped inside came at the ultimate price. On January 5, 2002, search and rescue crews finally recovered his remains deep beneath the rubble in a South Tower elevator shaft, resting side-by-side with a firefighter and a police officer. In his pocket were his driver’s license, union card, and rosary. Today, his son carries on his legacy as both an elevator mechanic and a volunteer firefighter. While the world remembers the overwhelming tragedy of that morning, Chuck Costello’s quiet, self-sacrificing courage stands as a testament to the highest order of human love, serving as a poignant reminder of how easily extraordinary human stories can be overlooked.
