Ten years ago on 8th August 2016, a pre-planned massacre was carried out in Quetta against the professional lawyers by Pakistan’s sponsored religious extremists. More than 60 lawyers were brutally murdered in a series of two blasts, resulting a devastating damage to the legal profession.
Pakistani state is notorious for exploiting the public opinion and diverting the international community away from the secular Baloch liberation Movement towards the extremest groups of its own sponsored. The state has been backing various religious extremist groups and using them in Balochistan. These groups have been involved in sectarian violence, targeting Baloch teachers, students, lawyers, journalists, intellectuals and professionals from other fields. It may seem difficult to accept this reality, but the Pakistani state has very clear interests of Pakistani state behind these criminal actions.
Pakistan uses a “Don’t always dirty your hands” policy to indirectly destroy and harm Baloch society, making it cripple so it can never rebuild and progress. The 8th, August 2016 blast targeting Balochistan’s lawyers in Quetta had multiple ties to the state. Its goals were to divert attention from the secular Baloch liberation struggle, create terror among lawyers and force them to obey the Pakistani military regime, and eliminate those individuals seeking truth in Balochistan.
We are well aware that this barbaric state doesn’t care about laws and morality. It has a continuous history of violating its own constitution and judiciary while punishing the citizens in a cruel manner. Recently a session judge, Abdul Hakeem Kakar was murdered in Mastung by the same state sponsored extremists to spread terror throughout the judicial community.
I want to remind the lawyers to remain well aware about these state conspiracies and illegal, criminal actions. Never step back from bringing justice to the oppressed people of Balochistan. If we don’t step forward and resist, this fascist state will continue to target the best minds of Balochistan.

The Pakistan’s Hypocrisy: The bombardment of Mosques and Holy Quran in Balochistan
Editorial
A state is judged not merely by the enemies it confronts, but by the values it chooses to uphold while confronting them. When military operations begin to cast a shadow over civilian lives and sacred spaces, the debate is no longer confined to security, it becomes a question of morality, legitimacy, and the very principles upon which the state claims to stand.
The helicopter shelling in Kand Umrani, Khadkocha, Mastung, on Friday 17th July of 2026 morning has once again brought these questions to the forefront. The operation was described by the Pakistani state as one targeting Baloch insurgents. Yet local residents witnessed that the shelling struck civilian areas, including a mosque, damaging the building, surrounding infrastructure, and religious books like Holly Quran kept inside. The Baloch people resisted these crimes and in reaction protested against it, the shutter-down strike also observed in the area, reflected not only anger but also a profound sense of resistance.
Pakistan repeatedly presents itself as an Islamic Republic, a state created upon principles derived from Islam. But in reality, it has been a big foe of the religion, proved in past criminal history in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where she continues to violate and disrespect the holy faiths of the population. Mosques are not ordinary structures, they are among the most sacred places in Islam, symbolizing worship, unity, and peace. The Holy Quran and other religious texts are revered by Muslims as deserving the highest respect. But Pakistan’s military operations result in damage to such places or materials, the burden lies squarely on this colonial state to acknowledge the contradiction behind its claim of being an Islamic state.
There is a complete contradiction between the claim and actions of this state which is impossible to ignore. How can a state invoke Islam as a defining element of its state existence while damage to mosques during its own military operations continues to emerge? Islamic values are seemed to guide governance in Pakistan but it appears as its institutions don’t care about the religious values in their actions but show brutal behaviour even in the most sacred places. This state proves itself to be Islamic merely in speeches, diplomatic forums, or in constitutional provisions but in reality, its rule has been the worst for Muslims also. No one is safe under its rule, from being Muslims to being part of other religions, this state has been a hell for everyone surviving here.
The issue before Pakistan is therefore larger than Kand Umrani. It is about whether this state is genuinely Islamic or truly represents Muslims and how it has been treating the people under its rule. Such incidents clearly reveal the nature of this state and should prompt the Baloch people and international organizations to reconsider their positions on this state. According to this perspective, Pakistan is nothing less than a rogue state that has no regard for morality, religious sensitivities, or the sentiments of the people. Pakistan and its army should be held accountable with transparency for damaging religious sites and targeting innocent people through the use of brutal force. But for Baloch, every act of violence is stored in our memories ultimately strengthening the resistance seeking freedom from the colonial rule of Pakistan. BSO Azad stands firms in its stance towards exposing the true nature of this state which has been demoralising the Baloch people from their cultural values to even deteriorating the religious sentiments. The Baloch nation must realise the truth that Pakistani state is not Islamic, but only misusing the name of sacred Islam. This is her peak hypocrisy seen in Balochistan’s ground.
KILL AND DUMP BY PAKISTAN
The extrajudicial killings of innocent Baloch civilians in fake encounters continue without any explanation. At the start of August, five dead bodies were recovered from different locations in Balochistan. The Baloch genocide continues beyond the sponsored narratives. Among those dead bodies, two bodies were recovered from Dasht, one from Meerabad, one from the Nasirabad area of Kech, and the fifth one from Surab. These bodies were the beloved living individuals of their respective families, who were shot to death only for being Baloch. This is the continuation of the Baloch Genocide.

You cannot block the light of sun with a finger, nor you can bury the truth through polished lies. No any organised propaganda can scrub the blood from the soil, or hide oppression on Balochistan. Baloch and Balochistan are real while Pakistan’s existence in Balochistan is illegitimate and based on occupation through violence and oppression. Reality is that Balochistan is the historical land of Baloch Nation, it lives in our veins, and rooted in our past historical memories which the artificial state of Pakistan has forcibly occupied it. The tyrant Pakistani state is trying to enforce its colonialism through the genocide of the Baloch and desperate to cover its crimes over polished and organised lies to legitimate its colonisation in modern so-called terms and laws. If we have a glance over Balochistan, the realities are exposed like the shining sun. You can see this state’s real face in media that it only relays on lies and calculated propaganda, it has expended a large amount of money to cover its crimes and distort the facts in Balochistan that no any state in the world did so. The state’s security forces and intelligence agencies harass and threaten the Baloch families and force them to media trials. Pakistan, like the mercenary soldiers, recruits mercenary media touts to distort the realities of Balochistan but every Baloch individual is well aware in this modern era and will not be deceived by white lies. Our contents have the truth and reality and Pakistan’s media contents have only lies and fabricated stories to distract the masses and create a chaos among them. I feel pity on his these acts.

Pakistan, since the pre-planed creation by British colonial rulers have caused only pain and suffering to the region. British colonial rulers after their evacuation from the sub continent, started demarcating the region and dividing historical nations into several countries, and created an artificial state named, Pakistan to secure their colonial interests in the region. The natural states were dissolved forcefully and merged or occupied by Pakistani state, since then the region has been a hotbed of violence and conflicts. This proved a failure and led into Genocides of the nations.
The Kashmir state was forcefully dissolved and divided between three countries, Pakistan took the chance of political and religious instability, and occupied Kashmir, depriving the people from the freedom, justice and dignity. Since then the tyrant state has been using violence in form of enforced disappearance, target killings and massacres of Kashmiri people. The recent incidents of massacres in Rawalakot, Kotli and Mirpur has shown the true face of Pakistan’s colonial crimes in Kashmir. The using of force on peaceful protesters and banning the indigenous political party named, Joint Awami Action Committee are nothing new but the historical heinous acts of tyrant Pakistani state.
We as Baloch nation, not only condemn these crimes but want to remind the Kashmiri nation, the actual truth of Pakistan. This state has never done any justice to the oppressed people, it’s Pakistan’s nature to deal the peaceful political struggle with extreme violence. The Kashmiri people must know these realities and continue their legitimate struggle against the oppression as we Baloch nation doing since the occupation. The true power lies within the people and they must not loose their strength in the struggle of freedom justice and dignity for their nation.
The Pakistani state has been lying the Kashmiri people on international forum for their own interests, it has been seen raising voices in international community but the actual face is being revealed on Kashmir ground. Pakistan has been trying to use the Kashmir card for its own political agendas, which Kashmiri people must know. The truth is Pakistan has occupied Kashmir and is involved in serious crimes against the people.
The creation of Pakistan has led to ethnic cleansing of Baloch, Pashtun, Kashmiri and Sindhi nations. The natural and ancient states of Balochistan, Pashtunistan, Kashmir and Sindh were forcefully merged into an artificial Pakistani state in the name of sacred religion, Islam. The forceful merging of four nations along with other minorities have caused pain and sufferings only, the region has never seen peace since 1947. The nations suffering, must come united, struggle against this tyrant state and get rid of it as soon as possible. The United Nations along with international community must fulfil their responsibilities and help the nations to get their natural states to bring peace and stability in the region.

In the Khadkoocha area of Mastung, Balochistan, a child was born on 10 October, 1979 in the house of Haji Jan Muhammad. This child was later known as Sangat Sana Baloch, who grew up in a small village and lived a simple life. He got his basic education from his hometown, Mastung. As Mastung is known as the most important ground for the Baloch political uprising, it has always resisted against the oppressors, whether against the Imperial British or against the colonial Pakistan. Growing up in such a place, itself is a privilege, but being benefited from this privilege is a special kind of honour. Sangat Sana was totally aware of this privilege and honour and adapted the opportunity to serve the ongoing national struggle. After completing his basic education in his hometown, he then went to the University of Balochistan for his further studies.
From the university he got his bachelor’s degree in political science. He did not just study his degree but also studied political uprisings and the Baloch national struggle. Along with his theoretical studies, he also took part physically in the Baloch national struggle for independence. He joined BSO-Azad in his early life and served in different designations in the organisation. After serving many years, he was finally elected as the Central Vice Chairman of the organisation in the 2006 Council Session. In the 2008 Council Session, he completed his tenure as a student political leader and later joined the mass political party.
Sangat Sana was a visionary, farsighted and highly educated political figure within the Baloch political class. He had the charismatic qualities in persuading the Baloch people to participate as active members in the struggle for the freedom of Baloch land. For his tireless dedication and determination he was an eyesore to the Pakistani state, and they were considering him as a great hurdle in countering the Baloch national struggle. They were always on a mission to eliminate Sangat Sana Baloch, and for that they tried every possible means, but Sana Baloch stood before them like a rock. However, that unfortunate day came on 7 December, 2009 when he was forcibly arrested and subsequently disappeared near Kulpur, while travelling from Mastung to Sibbi.
In the state torture cells he endured atrocious torture but did not bow down before the Pakistani state. He was as bold and brave as the state was astonished by his bravery and courage. For his such bravery and courage the terrorist army shot him with 28 bullets to satisfy their self-satisfaction. On 13 February, 2010 his mutilated body was found in the Murgaap area of Kech. By martyring Shaheed Sangat Sana, the state was on a page to completely destroy his political legacy, but they forgot the fact that the rule of martyrs' legacy starts after their death. Same is the case for Sangat Sana, whose legacy continues still today and shall continue until the end.
