The capitalist ruling class has no plan B because their minds are unable to grasp a better world where society is not ruled by profit, exploitation, and greed.

The only hope humanity has left is for the people to rise up and fight for a better system where workers own the means of production, and the economy is run not to generate profits, but to meet people’s basic needs.

Opponents of the proposed billionaire tax in California have raised over $300 million to stop it from passing, which is about 10 times more than what supporters of the measure have raised.

The opposition funding came mostly from tech barons and venture capitalists, with a third of it coming from Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

By having a whopping 10 times the resources that supporters have, the opposition can saturate television, radio, digital platforms, mailers, etc.

This is a clear example of the asymmetric influence of billionaires. There are no campaign finance limits on state ballot measures.

90% of the proceeds from this proposal for a one-time 5% wealth tax on billionaires would be designated for the state's healthcare, while 10% would go to food assistance and school.

Gavin Newsom opposes the proposal.

Not only has the US never televised public executions in its history, but not even the Nazi defendants sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials had their executions televised (it was deemed violative of the human rights that post-WW2 institutions were trying to re-establish).

The most amazing part of this is that Nidal Hasan is paraplegic and close to 60. So this disgusting spectacle will involve rolling him out in a wheelchair, then live-streaming his body as it's pumped full of bullets.

When I and others pointed out last night that public executions are carried out only by the countries we're told are the most primitive and savage (Afghanistan, North Korea), MAGA enthusisasts replied that we were too weak. Pummeling an old guy in a wheelchair with bullets -- as a reality TV show -- seems like an odd and dubious defintion of "strength," let alone an expression of the western values they endlessly claim they and they alone are trying to salvage.
