@morganisawizard Depends on how independent you want to be after marriage. You might want to have a pool of money to just spend on yourself, you might not want to be dependent on one party to supplement yourself. I think the less you merge, the more chance you'll see something in the other.
@Sam_the_gray@harryrjumpjet@gervaisclips Yeah, but the point is that science develops theories that spring from phenomena in the world. Eventually those that are wrong (humours etc.) are proved wrong. There's no way to prove religions wrong as they are a matter of faith. No one is going to be work out 'Jesus' from life.
@elonmusk Hmm... most of them seem to be independents... But as they are guardians of truth, it seems fairly logical that they are not drawn to the Republican party, no?
@bradspursN17@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Senate is very skewed to Republicans as there are more solid red states than blue and no matter population size, 2 senators are put forward. So Cali (40m) and Oklahoma (4m) both only have two senators. Republicans tend to do better in rural areas. D. C., Puerto Rico want reps.
@bradspursN17@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Both chambers and POTUS needed to pass any legislation. When you have all three that's a trifecta baby, meaning you can get things through (though with a tight margin Joe Manchin-like figures become kings of the court and can veto), so bipartisan deal making is often key.
@bradspursN17@RestIsPolitics@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK Also the all the House is up for grabs at each midterm/presidential election. Only some of the senate seats (one third I think) come into play each election, meaning that change is slower. The senate confirms cabinet posts (who needn't be an elected representative) and S.C.judges
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret This was answered on TRIPUS, but I'd like to hear your takes, what happens if Trump loses, but refuses to accept defeat? Is there a case for Trump's defeat being worse for American democracy that his victory?
@GMB He goes to far. But if there is reasonable doubt (no need for more) then she should hopefully have been found innocent, whether or not she is innocent.
@RestIsPolitics@RoryStewartUK@campbellclaret Five Thirty Eight's new forecast gives Harris about a 60 40 chance, almost out of the margin of error. Should we be counting our chickens? Will RFK's exit make an impact on the race? Why is the race less close than in 2024?
