This is Bronze Age Greece diversity, including samples 3-5ky BP. As far as we know from ancient DNA, the population of Greece, to which Homer's Achaeans belonged, was a subset of West Eurasia, genetically between Europe and West Asia as the Aegean is geographically.

Sicilians & s. Italians also have ancient Greek ancestry but they don't look that different from other Meds.

@Stoelzmann That's ok jew I'll elaborate. Genetic proximity =/ genetic descent. A less close population by proximity may have more actual genetic descent from a DNA source than a population closer by proximity to that source.
