@Long2301Long@EastBayChris That would certainly be valuable, but the point is more that being able to GET a pressure is a very good indicator that an individual player beat their blocker very well and did well to rush the passer, better than just sacks because they’re more reliant on the actions of others
@Long2301Long@EastBayChris Again, you’re not wrong.
The only argument people make for pressures being more “valuable” in any way is within the context of assessing pass-rushing ability and future projection. Pressures are just more individualised in their influence whereas sacks are almost a team stat
@freekyfreezer@EastBayChris It’s extra blocking attention. Usually a RB or TE just puts a drive-by shot onto a player to help the O-lineman blocking him or just to slow the rusher down.
@freekyfreezer@EastBayChris It’s a type of block. Not a double team where both blockers stay on the defensive player to prevent him from getting to the ball, instead it’s usually a TE or a RB putting a shoulder into the defensive player to help the person who IS blocking him, usually before running a route
@ninerinsider@GameTapeGods@EastBayChris It’s not an incremental upgrade at all. Garrett’s PRWR is significantly better than Verse’s whilst being HEAVILY more game planned for than Verse.
The only reason Verse has a better pressure rate is because he isn’t Double/Triple-Teamed and Chipped anywhere close to Garrett
@KhalDraco4@EastBayChris Youthinking correct.
Even more impressive that he has a far better PRWR whilst being the most double-teamed and (2nd) most chipped EDGE in the league by a good margin.
Unfortunately though teams get the ball out quick as soon as he breaks free in any capacity
@Long2301Long@EastBayChris Yes, sacks are obviously the more valuable on-field result than pressures. You’re not breaking any news there.
The value of pressures is that they’re a better representation of pass-rushing success on a players behalf, since sacks are influenced by so much noise
@AustinAbbott Idk if this is engagement bait or what, but this trade doesn’t get made if they don’t draft Ty Simpson to be Staffords successor, eliminating the need to draft a QB in 2027 (with the 1st they traded to the Browns)
@MarqsJO You’re underselling Verse here. He’s a top 10-15 EDGE in the league with ability to improve and he’s only 25 years old.
Getting a 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd along side him is fair compensation.
I’m sure other teams offered 2x 1sts + but they also would have been contenders anyway
@Faxnx140614@IkerTorterra This feels like a reach tbh
It goes to seems like they just wanted him to look more and more like Trump. Same reason they had him seemingly wearing bronzer in a lot of scenes
@istrias15336@midgradeB Yeah anything that said or “oozed” “he is literally me” was most likely ironic shitposting, but you didn’t understand the joke. Or you were just so blinded by Homelanders right wing satire that you just assumed it was dumb right wingers identifying with him
@Disney4Eternity@SethAbramson USAID was also used as a front for CIA operations so they could stay financially disconnected from their foreign affairs ops
Also after DOGE revealed some of the crazy spending of USAID I’m not surprised they were shut down.
@OnlyTBeans@ColtonOgburn Rooting for him as a character in the show because he’s a fantastic villain and it probably would have been an equally fun ending if they twisted the show and Homelander actually won and scorched the Earth.
But no one actually thinks he’s the good guy
@ChingCh0ngChin@TheBoysOOCC Oh true I thought you said he’s there from the Seven. 100% Billy is winning. Without a doubt, he has the intensity, will, and combat skills to decimate everybody
But also forgot about Soldier Boy who would probably come 2nd, Jensen packed on a lot of mass to a tall frame
@ColtonOgburn The amount of people that ACTUALLY think Homelander is a good guy and that support his actions is totally negligible if not entirely non-existent.
The reality is that the “hurr durr media literacy” fart sniffers blew the whole thing out of proportion so they could feel superior
@ColtonOgburn This whole issue is so fabricated. A bunch of people started making “based” Homelander memes because they were funny and he’s a charismatic character.
Then the weirdos went ape-shit and started saying “you are so dumb! You don’t even get that he’s the bad guy! Media literacy!”
