The Earthstar of Bethlehem on Xmas Day? Not really. Found @Newstead_Abbey Nottingham on Xmas Eve. Any ideas about the species gratefully received. It was other side of a ditch so couldn't get close enough for positive ID. @nottsfungi

Geastrum coronatum Barrow Hills 28-10-2018
A rare RDL species recorded in sandy soil under hawthorn. The central globe stands on a short stalk within the split rays, the undersides of which tend to accumulate a lot of soil and debris.

Inocybe salicis Sherwood Forest 7-10-2018
A rare Red Data List Inocybe found in sandy soil with oak & other br-leaf trees. Not much to distinguish it macroscopically from similar Inocybes, though the bulb at the base of the stem is one such feature. A single 1st Notts record.

Cryptocline taxicola Carlton Wood, Carlton-in-Lindrick Notts (SK582844) 27-9-2018
Seldom recorded coelomycete on fallen yew leaves. Macroscopically similar and commoner, Diplodia taxi has larger 1-septate spores. 1st Notts record.

Lepiota echinella 100 Acre Wood 21-10-2018
Growing singly in sandy grassy soil with beech, this is a small rare RDL Lepiota, one of a number with concentric brown scales on the cap and rather reddish brown stems. This it was also recorded at Barrow Hills. 1st Notts record

Pluteus ephebeus Barrow Hills 28-10-2018
A medium to large grey Pluteus recorded on a hardwood stump with oak, hawthorn & birch. It is uncommon in the county with a record from Newark in 1999. A visible characteristic is the splitting cap cuticle revealing the pale flesh below
