Okay, so I was girlcotting @X for flagging two of posts, both were pretty mild when compared to what the white grifters say about us. Then I thought, f&ck it, drank my self-worth and came right back.
Under Sections 24 and 25 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, husbands can request alimony if they prove financial dependence on their wives. The higher earning spouse may be required to pay more alimony. On the other hand dowry is for personal benefit in the name of tradition.
I repeat, alimony is the compensated amount of money husband and in-laws have taken from the wife/DIL/SIL, as well the compensation for the disproportionate amount of unpaid labor that she did and the career gaps she took !!!
On Jan 7, 2024, a Muslim woman and a Hindu man couple checked into a hotel in Hangal, Karnataka.
Likely tipped off by hotel staff, a group of men from the woman’s community soon barged into their room, assaulted them, and filmed the incident. The attackers then allegedly took the woman to a secluded spot, where she was gangraped.
19 were arrested. 12 got bail earlier; the remaining 7 secured it recently. After release, they joined a celebratory procession from the sub-jail to Akki Alur with over 25 vehicles, music, slogans, and victory signs, receiving a hero’s welcome from their supporters.
Not surprisingly, the "love knows no religion" brigade stayed largely silent. They invoke love to downplay cases where women are deceived by hiding religion, but here, a consensual interfaith couple faced moral policing and gangrape, yet drew little support.
To grasp the apathy, consider this: if someone like Swara today shares a tweet from a random anonymous account claiming she’s being harassed for marrying a Muslim, she’d receive thousands of times more support than this real victim has.
The case only gained media attention after the accused's celebratory videos post-bail went viral.
@shanteehee these refugees couldnt live peacefully in their country and kworded Hindus & Buddhists n now want to do the same here. Why should India keep them
Maktoob Media has a history of lying/distorting, and are the only ones covering this "India threw Rohingya refugees into the sea" story. How credible is it?
Quite something to see even climate scholars and activists who often recognise and are vocal on injustice issues completely skip over Pakistan's decades-long state support for terrorism in their commentary on the recent conflict. Worse is whitewashing
@politicalawake this is a veiled radicalization method--they pray in the open to assert dominance, soon you wud see them hosting street dawah to openly convert. Beware
Muslim foreigners are now praying on our streets.
We gave them 113 mosques across Japan but that's apparently not enough
They have zero respect for Japanese culture.
