why we built nought

most tokens don’t do anything. they run on hype, people chase them, and someone ends up holding the bag. we didn’t want to build another one of those.

so we started with the product.

people trade every day, and almost every terminal takes a cut of every trade, usually around 1%. it doesn’t sound like much until you add it up: 100 trades of 1 sol is a full sol gone, win or lose.

nought does the opposite. no platform fee. no referral cut. no spread. your trades go straight to https://t.co/UHZnwOaCF7, pumpswap or jupiter, and your wallet signs every one.

it’s live now at https://t.co/na0Yi3ophI, and you don’t have to take our word for any of it. every https://t.co/UHZnwOaCF7 trade made on nought carries a public on-chain tag, so anyone can count our volume and check that we take nothing.

so how does it keep running? not off your trades. creator rewards from solana:EW9ezwtqvn3v8RpdKMEQai8n5bmajUiPnC4UBV7zpump pay for it: 80% goes to running costs, and 20% buys solana:EW9ezwtqvn3v8RpdKMEQai8n5bmajUiPnC4UBV7zpump back and locks it. 5.22% of supply is already locked on streamflow, and nobody can cancel those locks.

the bet is simple. if a terminal is cheaper, simpler and more transparent, traders will use it. if traders use it, there’s a real community around something useful, not just another meme.

we’re not promising anything. it’s early, memecoins are risky, and solana:EW9ezwtqvn3v8RpdKMEQai8n5bmajUiPnC4UBV7zpump is a memecoin too: it isn’t a share of the platform or of its revenue. but the product is real, it works today, and it fixes something every trader pays for every day.

that’s why we’re building it.

Yes I am working nonstop losing hairs over this tbh. We have paid for blue tick and waiting for it to process

[Nought @Nought0Fees]

nought got faster.

trades are ready to sign in ~0.18 s, down from ~0.5–0.65 s.

they also go out over helius’s staked lanes now, paid from your priority fee, so it costs the same.

Today I am working on increasing execution speeds of buys and sells after click

Gaining milliseconds here is important for traders and that alongside Testflight launch will be my core focus for today!

@pythiatheotkn @Abubakar1374920 We have been updating?

[Nought @Nought0Fees]

dev tokens tab now shows every coin the dev launched, what it hit at ATH and where it is now

[Nought @Nought0Fees]

Trade building is now fast (3ms, cached block reference)

[Nought @Nought0Fees]

Some quick fixes we made to make trade on nought are faster!

What was slowing them down:
- every sell re-read your balance from the chain, and right after a trade that meant waiting for an rpc to catch up
- pressing sell fetched a second quote even though you were looking at one
- we only checked for confirmation every 1.5s

Now Nought will prepare the trade before you click. Right now pressing Buy or Sell starts the work: fetch a recent block reference, build the transaction, then sign. Nought can keep a fresh block reference ready at all times and pre-build the transaction for the quote on screen, so pressing just signs and sends. That probably saves 0.3–1 s per trade.
