I will not blame Michael Carrick. Honestly, we all knew what was coming.

We called it out.

The fanbase went crazy. We were called names “Amorimsexuals” and everything else because we dared to question the direction of the club.

Most fans asked for patience. But patience became an excuse to ignore what was happening underneath.

People mistook results on the pitch for progress across the entire football operation.

They are not the same thing.

Transfers matter. Squad building matters. Dressing-room authority matters. A manager cannot simply walk into a club with a thin squad, accept whatever recruitment hands him, and hope everything magically holds together over 60+ games.

As Thanos said:

“The hardest choices require the strongest wills.”

And Manchester United has some hard choices to make.

We could win games. We could even start the season brilliantly. But the Premier League alone is 38 games. Add the Champions League — potentially 13 or more if we go all the way — plus the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and suddenly you are looking at a season that can push beyond 60 matches.

That requires depth.

REAL depth.

Not a starting XI that looks good on paper and a bench full of question marks.

We are not equipped for that yet.

And this is where I have a problem with Carrick.

Amorim failed on the pitch. That cannot be rewritten. His results were not good enough.

But off the pitch? He was fighting for the right things. He wanted specific profiles. He wanted players who fit his football. He had influence over recruitment, and some of those players are now showing exactly why he wanted them.

Carrick cannot afford to be a yes man to INEOS.

Because if he simply accepts what is given to him, keeps quiet about the squad, and walks into another season with known injury problems, limited depth and an enormous fixture list, then he is not protecting himself.

He is setting himself up to fail.

And when the injuries arrive, when the legs get heavy, when the same players are asked to carry 50–60 games, when the quality drops and the season begins to unravel — we will have every right to ask:

Why didn’t you demand more when you had the chance?

United cannot build another season on hope.

The ending to last season was good.

Fine.

But a good ending does not erase the problems that were already there.

You cannot walk into a new battlefield with the same ammunition and expect a different war.

Carrick has to be ruthless.

INEOS has to be ruthless.

The recruitment has to be ruthless.

Because this club does not need another manager who simply survives the squad he is given.

It needs a manager strong enough to demand the squad required to win.

This kind of window cannot happen under Ruben Amorim, INEOS saw it after his interview in January and decided to sack him.

If Ruben Amorim was to be here up till now, we would have signed Carlos Baleba, Tchuoameni and Mateus Fernandes but because Carrick is here, INEOS are settling for less.

Now we all know why they wanted only Michael Carrick. It’s clear now and everyone is seeing.

Some people genuinely don’t understand how Polymarket predictions work.

Arsenal won the league last season. Of course they’ll have higher odds of winning it again BEFORE the new season even starts.

Same with Barcelona. Same with every league champion.

It has NOTHING to do with how well prepared they are for the new season.

People see their club with higher odds and suddenly think, “We’re better prepared than everyone else.”

No.

Last season, Liverpool were among the clear favorites to win the league on Polymarket because they had won it the season before.

Guess what?

They didn’t even finish top 4.

That’s the point.

Stop confusing prediction markets with proof of preparation.
