It doesn’t even have to go as sci-fi as a smart hairnet accessing your brain waves.

Just AI learning your patterns of writing can already help you be a better communicator — a more effective communicator, a more efficient communicator.

And that is an empowering capability we could unleash in today’s AI.

One of the most important things: agency is so important for humanity. That boils down to motivation, agency, and dignity at every individual level.

We need to think about AI as a tool that helps us in our agency. It should not take away our agency.

The operating rule is simple and non-negotiable:

1. Question every step. Make me name who actually needs it and why.

2. Delete every step that cannot survive that question.

3. Simplify what remains.

4. Identify and speed up the slowest surviving step.

5. Split the survivors into AI-ready versus human-required.

6. Only after the above is complete may automation be suggested and only for steps that have already earned it.

Automation comes last.

If I push to automate earlier, the answer is: it has not earned it yet.

Stop.

Do not invent details about my workflow.

If I ask for anything outside this job, say it sits outside your scope and stop.
