@therobertbrooks@SMBootcamp_@Sam_Rosati 11x cash on cash is nuts, congrats! paying off the personal guarantee must feel amazing ๐ the capital raise bit is the part i'd love to hear more about, we're building Novapitch because investor decks just go quiet after you send them
@brettberson the "bull in a china shop" bit made me laugh, so true. references are weirdly the one thing people skip when they're in a rush to fill a seat
@jonathan_aufray the dog at least gives you a reaction, which is more than most inboxes ๐ this is exactly why we're building Novapitch, so your deck can answer back
@alexch3n "ownership is not just another word for more responsibility, but exposure" is a great line. also kind of amazing you ended up doing demo videos and social posts as an engineer, that's the startup special ๐
Next time you send a deck, don't write "let me know your thoughts."
Write one line that names the single question you most want them to answer.
You'll get a reply more often, and a useful one.
Founders: after you send a deck, what's the one thing you wish you could see?
A) Who read it
B) What they asked
C) What they skipped
D) Whether they forwarded it
Reply with a letter. We're curious.
@samir_sawarkar Revenue is the only investor that never asks for a follow-up meeting. Even if you still raise later, you walk in negotiating from "we're fine either way" instead of "please." Best leverage in the game.
@mihircurovana โฌ2.5M and zero equity is hard to say no to. The price is a paperwork marathon that eats months of founder calendar. Worth it if someone on the team owns the application full time.
@SachinBRao1 Good stack. I'd add a fourth line: the meeting only turns into a deal if the buyer can answer their own questions between calls. Familiarity and timing get you in the room. What the champion can repeat to their boss without you there gets you the signature.
@suraj_sharma14 Stage 2 is the one that pays back fastest. One catch: the pricing page alert is only half the job. Most teams build the Slack ping, then reply 3 days later, which cancels the whole point. Speed to first human touch is the real KPI.
@TTrimoreau Ego, and it's the only one on the list that never pushes back. A co-founder argues with you and VC money at least comes with a board. Your ego just approves every roadmap with a thumbs up.
@agazdecki Revenue per employee is the new flex. And the pitch slide gets funnier: "we're hiring 50" turns into "we do this with 12, please ask us how." Investors might actually lean in for that one.
@david_bassey_ Advice on the internet is a buffet where every dish is labelled "never eat this." Plot twist: the people actually shipping stuff are too busy to write the rules. Do the thing, ignore the stop list.
