“I now feel like an idiot. I believed everything the government and opposition told me about Covid.
Everything.
I believed when they told me that wearing a mask would stop it. That standing 2 metres apart would stop it. I didn’t then question that none of that stopped it and that we all then had to take a vaccine that was 100% effective. I joined in shouting at the anti-vaxxers.
I volunteered, along with hundreds of thousands of others to help the NHS and didn’t question the fact that none of us were ever called up to help.
I cheered when people were sacked because they refused to be jabbed and called them Granny Killers.
I accepted as Gospel the fact that we were all told to queue up for vaccine boosters even though they’d told us that the first one was 100% effective.
I thought it was great being on furlough even though my bosses business was slowly dying.
I cheered key workers, never once questioning the fact that it wasn’t really a lockdown if some people were carrying on as normal.
I accepted that Sadiq Khan’s mandate as London Mayor had expired as we could no longer have elections during lockdown could we? Meaning he remained in power making decisions that he had no right to.
I also understood we couldn’t go to family funerals but our political leaders and opposition leaders could have drinks and parties as they were still ‘technically at work’.
The deadly, killer virus one if the worst to strike mankind could not end you if you were eating a Scotch Egg in a pub we were told.
All of these things I now realise was a lie. It was just a way of controlling the population.
