NYC's greatest edge is that it's able to make life feel like a video game. Every part of the map is its own world. Subway stations are like portals that make it seem like you're spawning in and out of these worlds at will
You don't need to think about what to do or where to go. You just need to have a desire to do something or go somewhere in general, then start walking in an aimless direction. It's a perpetual choose your own adventure experience where random things will always pique your attention along the way and somehow hand you a perfect day
Friction between thought and action is almost non existent. What area should I drive to? What's the traffic or parking situation going to look like? Which area should I go to next after I'm done with this one? If you're someone who doesn't like to plan, these types of questions disappear forever
Depending on your personality, it's the greatest city in America if reading this left you with more energy than it took away. There's so much to love about other commonly mentioned contenders like SF and LA in terms of nature and beauty, but NYC just makes me come alive in an indescribable way. Doesn't mean you always have to be there, but it's always there when you need it
Dead giveaway that someone's life is actually good is how frictionlessly they're able to adapt to everyday things not going according to plan
Show up to a spot and it's closed or a restaurant and the wait is long. Hit unexpected traffic, get a day mixed up, anything that should theoretically break your flow
No blaming, sighing, or any visible signs of frustration. Almost a complete non reaction. Wastes no time even acknowledging it and just pivots to the next best option
Fuck it this place next door seems chill. Looks like we'll be here a bit longer so let's pop into some of these other stores. Then of course everyone ends up having a good time
Zero desire or need to escape the present moment. Can't force the abundance. Just a natural expression of having so much perceived control over your own time that nothing can make you believe that you don't have enough of it
Forget status games. It's all older generation foolishness. New wave is how smoothly you're gliding through reality. Undeniable composure. One of the few energies that can't be faked
As the hearing went on, Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) couldn’t hide his admiration, telling Kennedy directly that God has a “divine purpose” for him.
“60% of Americans have a chronic disease. Mr. Kennedy, I believe for such a time as this that you’re not just one of 300 million people. I think that you are the person to lead HHS to make America healthy again. That God has a divine purpose for you. And I look forward to your confirmation in working with you to make America healthy again.”
WIKIPEDIA BLOWS $50M ON WOKENESS
Turns out nearly 30% of Wikipedia’s budget last year went to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
That’s $50 million for DEI instead of, you know, improving the actual site.
Critics are calling it “Wokepedia,” accusing the platform of prioritizing ideology over function.
Meanwhile, the internet’s collective eye-roll is almost audible.
Sure, inclusion is nice, but maybe they could use some of that money to ensure they're a reliable source of information first? Just a thought.
