Breathtaking views during peak foliage on the Tobys Rock Mountain Outer Loop at Naugatuck State Forest. Some of the best sights during this entire #CTSTL2024 campaign.
I also walked by a series of falls on my way up and spotted 2 black vultures. A great day in the outdoors!
I visited Nassahegon State Forest in hopes of seeing a 🐻 bear, and while that didn't happen, I was blessed with lovely and peaceful scenery along Punch Brook Trail. Yet another great find in our #ctstateparks!
The firetower at Shenipsit State Forest provided stunning views all the way to Mass, Vermont, and even New Hampshire. It was past peak for the foliage, but still a lovely day to enjoy the great outdoors. Thanks to Ahmad for tagging along! Off to the next! #CTStateParks
I stopped by the Rock House 🪨, a cave near the peak of a mountain in 🌳 Mattatuck State Forest. The hike 🥾 along the Jericho Trail contained💧streams, trees, and vegetation. I even spotted a fearless frog 🐸! Let's see where my #CTStateParks adventure goes next!
The weather was fantastic for the hike on the blue trail in Salmon River State Park. I made a few friends, including a frog and snake on my way to the Day Pond Brook Spur Waterfall. Can’t forget about the covered bridge on the Salmon River. The #CTStateParks continue to dazzle!
Getting to Nayantaquit Trail at Nehantic State Forest was an adventure along a 2 mile dirt road! Once you're there, it's seclusion and serenity. I enjoyed the diversity of trees and fauna accompanied by forest bridges, boulders, and water on a gorgeous day. #CTStateParks
A light rain didn't stop us from a 6 mile 🥾 hike along the Blue Trail at Cockaponset State Forest. Nick Coco and I enjoyed a touch of fall as the leaves 🍂 just started changing colors. His little guy, Gus 👶, may have had the most fun exploring the outdoors! #CTStateParks
The latest #CTStateParks adventure 🥾 brought us to Nipmuck State Forest & Bigelow Hollow State Park! Big thanks to Adam Weinstein for tagging along! We walked🚶along Breakneck Pond. The remote, 7.4 mile journey briefly had us cross into Massachusetts. What a hidden gem 💎!
A gorgeous ☀️ morning in beautiful Paugussett State Forest. The hike🚶♂️around Lake Lillinonah provided lovely views, ample shade, and a workout 🥵! I even spotted Newtown's Shepaug Dam in all its glory. What a great day to visit one of our wonderful #CTStateParks
My second stop on the Sky's the Limit Hiking Challenge with a stop by Great Pond Loop at Massacoe State Forest 🌳 in Simsbury. It was much cooler in the shade during the oppressive heat.
Two State forests down at our #CTStateParks and 13 to go! I'll keep you in the "loop." 😉
I'm participating in the Sky's the Limit Hiking Challenge. I'll be traveling all over #Connecticut to exercise & see what our state has to offer!
My buddy François and I linked up at Pootatuck State Forest for some awesome views! It's gonna be a great summer at our #CTStateParks
BREAKING: The CEO of @Hertz wrote a letter to Puerto Rico‘s representative in Congress stating that Hertz has rewritten its policy to make it abundantly clear that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory - not a foreign country - & because of that Puerto Rico driver’s licenses are not international IDs they are just as valid as any ID from any state in this union. This news follows the story I first reported last week, where a Puerto Rican man at the New Orleans international airport was denied a rental car because at least two Hertz workers said his license was international. On top of that, the man who recorded the incident, had the police called on him by a Hertz employee who said he can never rent from Hertz again because he recorded the incident. *She was wrong; he can rent from Hertz again*. The police officer who responded to the call was dismissive and rude and is now the subject of an internal investigation by his police department because the customer, Mr. Humberto Marchand, filed a complaint with the @KennerPolice. Following our report, Representative @Jenniffer wrote a letter to Hertz asking for a companywide educational campaign, and she got it.
Lastly: Puerto Ricans are United States citizens. Please share.
