The Novus Ag family celebrates the women who keep agriculture moving forward every day. Farm moms wear many hats—raising strong families, supporting the operation, and helping to feed everyone. Your dedication to the farm and people you love is appreciated. Happy Mother’s Day!
Farmers don’t just grow crops—they care for the land that sustains us all. This Earth Day, we’re proud to stand with those who steward the land every single day.
Leaf Tissue Data: Part 5 - Zinc
You don't want zinc leaf tissue below 25ppm!
Did we find evidence of a phos-to-zinc ratio linked to yield?
What is the yield impact of a zinc deficiency?
Regional data subset crunch of 80 Agrimodis R6 tests:
Highest yields were within a range of fields in which the biomass N content was -10 lb/ac to +40 lb/ac of applied nitrogen rates.
Aka, fields that took up less nitrogen than was applied had worse performance. The bigger the gap, the worse the yield performance.
Aka #2, fields that took up over 40 lb/ac of N beyond applied amounts had reduced yield and higher N lb/bu.
Aka #3, fields that had N uptake within 40 lb/ac of applied N amounts yielded highest. Yields stayed higher up to 10 lb/ac above uptake.
Another note: The right side of the chart shows high levels of luxury levels of N. Some fields contained 100+ lb/ac more N than was applied, yet yields did not follow the trend (see next post in the thread).
Once N lb/bu gets past 1.24, things get worse. Excess N is a yield limiter. So is applying anything over 10 lb/ac of excess N, at least in this region. This is represented by the columns on the left side of the gray bar in the top chart.
Coverage is getting greener for 2026 Agrimodis accounts!
Expecting to add some southern Wisconsin soon, and hoping to add some OK and AR areas.
Corn expected to be going into the ground this week in some areas.

On Tuesday, March 24th, we celebrate National Ag Day - honoring the people, innovation, and dedication that drive American agriculture forward. For 250 years and counting, agriculture continues to feed, fuel, and sustain our communities. Thank you to America's Ag Professionals!
Since its founding in 1928, FFA has inspired generations to see agriculture as more than planting and harvesting — it’s a dynamic industry rooted in science, leadership, business, and innovation.
We’re proud to support FFA and the opportunities it creates for young ag leaders.
As we gather this Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the men and women who keep agriculture thriving. Your work sustains communities and fills countless tables. Enjoy a well-deserved holiday of appreciation and thanks.
