1. With significant flooding affecting parts of the country, we're getting asked about the D word.
A short 🧵on #dredging, #flooding, #climatechange and solutions.
But to start with, dredging is not the solution to major flooding. See:

We've been getting support from @WestcountryRT & @NE_DCIoS with water/soil erosion risk management. Our tracks are a bit of a challenge but this fab suggestion of recycling crash barriers to channel water off the track implemented by @AnnaDav50275955 & @Riverford seems to work.
2063! The date the government wants to set for getting rivers to 'good chemical status' (reminder: they ALL currently fail) is 2063! Talk about kicking the can down the road, the politicians won't only be out of power by then, they'll be dead. Possibly shortly after a wild swim.
With little over 60% of the average rainfall for the year-to-date, and a deficit of ~3½ months' worth of rain, this year is currently on track to be one of the driest on record in East Anglia 🏜️
Thanks to all who attended our outdoor pig event with @AWCoastCountry@AHDB_Pork @Kingscrops @EnvAgencyAnglia @robonthefarm1 & @lsbpigs
Grass cover looking was looking amazing after 21 months... Benefits of rotational grazing for welfare, soil health & water was clear to see✅
Back in the winter we did something pretty special with @Dynamic_Rivers and @EnvAgencyAnglia. We put a very damaged river back on to its floodplain and allowed it to form its own new, natural path through the floodplain and woods #stagezero
@rickkinley@no1sunkfarmer@CharlesAnyan@Jes_Squirrell@JRDSills@TrooperSnooks Centralised power generation allows it to be sold/controlled by energy companies with profits to shareholders. Localised solar on roofs of homes and businesses reduces the energy market for the big 6. So expect government to back compulsory purchase of farmland for solar 🤦♂️
Great news (even if it isn't perfect)! Only a few weeks ago this was being kicked into the long grass. A big well done to all those who have campaigned, written to MPs and kept this issue in the news 🙌
🚨BREAKING🚨
