Thatβs why I always say you should help people because you want to, not because you think theyβll help if you need them.
The things you do for people, they wouldnβt do it for you and na when you need them you go know.
π¨Ronan Coughlan on his altercation with Max Dowman before his red card during Fleetwoodβs victory against Arsenal:
π£οΈ Ronan Coughlan: βI get sick when I see young players with so much pride and arrogance, but so little respect for the game.
βWe are Fleetwood, so what? We play in League Two, so what? Itβs football, and we are here to compete too. Our league position doesnβt make us any less of a football club.
βI saw him kick out at Neal, and it wasnβt a good one. I went over to check if Neal was okay, only for Max to lash out and say,
βThis is exactly why you are in League Two and we are Premier League champions.β
βI got angry and told him to shut up. Before I knew it, everyone had gathered around us, and the whole thing turned into a massive confrontation.
βI accept responsibility for my reaction, and maybe I should have handled it better. But donβt ever think playing for Arsenal gives you the right to look down on us.
βThese lads work hard, sacrifice a lot and deserve respect just like everybody else. We might not have the money, facilities or superstar names, but we have pride.
βAnd the funniest thing is that they came here as Premier League champions, expecting to beat a League Two side, yet we are the ones celebrating tonight.
βMax needs to understand something: your badge might make you famous, but it doesnβt make you better than everybody else. Football has a way of humbling you.β
My genuine advice to every United fan out there is to remove your emotions from this club if you don't want to die, because the only way to explain this decision is that they want kill us.
Live your life for yourself, family, friends, and loved ones. Don't take United seriously again.
Just take everything as you see it and enjoy the ride.
