Just because it's different doesnt mean it's wrong. It seems like a lot of these myths are about separatism. Dialects are not deficiencies. #eng211sp20
@Cloe25504092 I so agree. There is so much overlap in concepts with my Intro to Language Disorders class. Understanding language is key to understanding if there's a deficiency. #eng211sp20
@NscPrada That's awesome, I feel the same about using twitter. I've never had a good experience with social media so it's cool to actually successfully use twitter. #eng211sp20
Prescriptive vs. Descriptive grammar in pronoun use in relation to the transgender population... love this topic but I'm nervous in my ability to tackle it. #eng211sp20
@kelseysteele86 Hey Kelsey, I'm thinking about prescriptive vs descriptive linguistics, comparing and contrasting their importance but it seems too broad too. I have an appointment with a librarian tomorrow so hopefully will receive some guidance. #eng211sp20#researchpaperideas
I thought it was really interesting that you can determine what a word is (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) just by its placement in a sentence, even if you have no idea what the word is. Syntax is definitely a deep subject but I'm enjoying starting to understand it. #eng211sp20
Sin-Tax... Haha. Finally getting an understanding of what it is through this reading. Very long and has a lot of information but is a great resource if I can wrap my head around it. #eng211sp20
It mentioned in #Myth8 that the letter describing the reasoning of the "trendy teachers" was written by a Marxist. I know I've learned about this but can someone explain what this is? #eng211sp20
