Let's invest dilligent labour into studying and teaching the word. Sometimes, brethren dress their hermeneutical exceptionalism and/or doctrinal incoherence in the garment of MYSTERY. By appealing to mystery, they seek to absolve themselves from the duty of defending their questionable doctrinal positions.

Appeal to MYSTERY – where clarity, where understanding is possible – is a terrible hush-strategy. Historically and expectedly, it implodes, self-destructs, and creates apostates in the process. Seekers, inquirers turn against God quicker, when they are prohibited from responsible doctrinal probes. However, Faith flourishes more when sanctified-curiosity and sincere, rigorous interrogation of our beliefs are rightly seen as worship. Yes, responsible interrogation of scripture, even when it is uncomfortable, is an act of worship.

Read slowly: While the things and ways of God in scripture are beyond logic, they are neither against nor anti logic. They usually proceed further than/from logic. They don't normally head out against logic, properly considered.
