@linmeitalks Also for most people student loans were the only way to get to university.
People are making comparisons to mortgages, bank loans etc. Those products are competitive, you have choice. They don't lock you in for thirty years to a lender that can unilaterally change the terms.
Even being born and raised here it'll never not be funny to me the response White Brits have to double barrelled names. I'm Ghanaian, every third Akan person has a double barrelled name...
A rasta being vegan and poet is unsurprising if you know any black Caribbean people
A mixed race person in the UK having a double barrelled surname is also unremarkable if you know any mixed people
@RinseHold@christina_ivey Hmmm, I'd say the 'urban' and 'gangsta' is an obvious allusion to his racial heritage and ignorance on what Black identities actual entail.
The reality is that in order to succeed and not be targeted while Black in any corporate environment, you have to unlearn a LOT

As a result of their draconian abortion law, the state of Georgia is keeping Adriana Smith, a clinically brain dead woman alive, so she can incubate a fetus that doctors believe will likely not survive once born.
Her family has no say.
She has no autonomy.
And she has been shown no grace.
Is this the world you want for your kids? Your grandkids? Yourself?
Is it?
Kmt I accidentally revealed my true identity in front of my colleagues😔 Saw my cousin in traffic and was like “WAHUM MY YUTE” and started talking in my real voice. Turned around and they were just standing behind me like “🧍🏻♀️” 😭😭
It all makes perfect sense, Kaeley. But I think some genuinely believe that God’s design assigns leadership to men, and they’re reinforced by years of bias in translations and commentaries. Logic alone rarely changes minds when people feel they’re being faithful to God by holding these views—it’s a powerful motivator.
The way forward, I believe, is to engage directly with the key passages and the assumptions behind them. If we can show that a more faithful reading leads to a different conclusion, we may help them see that honoring Scripture doesn’t mean forbidding women from certain leadership roles.
