Zakes bra yam, there are two fundamental points from that discussion that I believe the majority of fans completely overlooked or perhaps didn't hear them for what they truly are!
​1. The Data Smokescreen & Technical Void
​Kaizer Junior’s heavy emphasis on 'stats and analysis' is a massive red flag! In professional football, data should be an augmentative tool, not a primary shield for a lack of technical direction.
Relying on numbers over traditional coaching intuition is a high-risk gamble that shows that the leadership has lost its feel for the natural game.
When the management & technical team hides behind spreadsheets, it creates a vacuum.
From management down to the pitch, there are far too many loopholes being masked by corporate buzzwords.
​2. The Culture of Denial & Tge Motaungs being in-denial

​The most damning moment came toward the end of the conversation. When Robert Marawa raised the prospect of a looming negative record, should we lose the next match!
His response was : 'If it’s negative, I don’t know about it.' This isn't just a dismissive comment; it’s a symptom of a 'Brand Bubble' mentality & over reliance on ancient glory.
That family is out of touch with reality and football in its entirety.

Because, if the leadership refuses to acknowledge or reflect on the club’s negatives, they are incapable of correcting them. They are so focused on protecting the 'Kaizer Chiefs brand' that they have become blind to the sporting decline.
You can not fix a problem you refuse to see.

As a pained Kaizer Chiefs supporter, it often feels like hope fighting against reality. The odds always seem stacked against us. This why we humiliated today!

1️⃣ Coaching matters. The current Chiefs coaches were originally brought in as assistants to a head coach who did not make the grade and was dismissed for poor performance. If that project failed, how do you retain the same technical core and expect different results? If you are serious about the future, you reset properly. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates operate with a coach who arrived with credibility, authority and a clear football identity.

2️⃣ Quality matters. Most Pirates players represent the national team. Chiefs currently do not have a single regular Bafana Bafana player. That reflects the recruitment gap and the difference in standards.

3️⃣ Investment matters. Pirates break the bank for quality when necessary. Apolis could have been a Chiefs player, but instead we comfort ourselves with history. History does not win modern football matches: quality, speed and tactical clarity do.

4️⃣ Tactical decisions matter especially in a derby. Even when the odds are against you, the right setup can shift the balance. But how do you bench an international-calibre midfielder like Cele? How do you leave out one of your fastest wingers in the league like Velebayi when facing arguably the quickest attacking side in the league? And how do you rate a slow and lethargic Miguelo above a faster, more direct option like Cros when modern football is built on pace, transitions and intensity?

This is not just about “rebuilding.” It raises serious questions about management decisions and professional standards. Sometimes family inheritance does not automatically translate into effective leadership in a highly competitive professional environment.

Something must give soon, or we risk following the path of Jomo Cosmos.
