Leading a country and aspiring to have your own citizens leave their country to go develop other countries - rather than fulfilling your own mandate of making their home more accommodating of their skills - is a step above being colonised + self-hating that I can’t even qualify.
Visa restrictions prevented me from attending in person, but I was glad to join virtually and participate in the crucial discussions at the #AIDS2024 Youth Pre-Conference. Breaking down barriers to access is crucial!! @aidsyouthforces@Yplus_Global@UNITEDMoveESA@LetsStopAIDS
I wish to thank Minister @JMakamba for convening this important #EACMinisterialRetreat, conducted with professionalism, in a cordial atmosphere, with the objective of enhancing regional integration, peace and security in the community, and easing tensions between Partner States.
I thank all @jumuiya Ministers for Foreign and EAC Affairs, especially our direct neighbours, for the open and constructive spirit they demonstrated during the three-day retreat held in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Following bilateral consultations, including those facilitated by the co-chairs, Tanzania and South Sudan, and following sessions of the whole, key decisions and recommendations were made, including the following:
✅️ The EAC Ministers appreciated the truce negotiated by the US Government, and recommended that the truce be extended indefinitely;
✅️ The EAC ministers acknowledged that the viable path towards sustainable peace and security in eastern DRC is through a political process, and recommended the convening of an EAC summit of Heads of State to revitalize the political track of the EAC-led Nairobi process, in reciprocal coordination with the Luanda process:
✅️ The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda and DRC agreed to meet at the earliest, in the framework of the Luanda process;
✅️ The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda and Burundi agreed to meet by 31st October 2024, to address outstanding issues affecting their bilateral relations.
The EAC Ministers ended their communiqué by commeding the United Republic of Tanzania for convening the Retreat and by wishing the people of Rwanda peaceful elections.

Project 2025 is not a game, it’s white Christian nationalism. It is the Sharia Law of the “Christian” crazy people who aren’t Christian at all but want to control every aspect of your life through their narrow and exclusionary interpretation of Christ’s egalitarian, inclusive, and kindly teachings.
Don’t be fooled by Project 2025’s extremist and perverse ideology. Trump is bringing it to all our lives: abortion, LGBTQIA+ rights, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom of education, and equality between the races and genders—GONE. Forced birth and forced religion. Trump’s American Taliban.
You will never convince our generation that you can ever be trusted, ever again. When young people marched patriotically, wearing Kenyan flags on their backs and raising their voices, you responded with bullets and death. And NOW you have supposedly ‘heard’ and want dialogue? For 20 months you have been speaking, it’s our time now.
No more commissions of enquiry, no more multisectoral taskforces, no more reports, no more diverting our attention. If you have heard us, then no more talking—just act. We want to wake up in the morning with budget allocations reworked, with the Appropriations Bill overhauled, your MPs sacked, your Cabinet Secretaries sacked, the wheels of Constitutional amendments to begin turning, and your resignation on Gen-Z's desk for them to decide whether to accept.
This will go down in history, and we are no longer in an era where history can be manipulated. #RutoMustGo
BREAKING: Kenya’s president William Ruto rejects and withdraws his own Finance Bill after nationwide protests against over-taxation.
“Members of the public insist on the need for us to make more concessions. The people have spoken"
MY instant reaction: President William Ruto could have withdrawn the Finance Bill a few days ago and saved lives. But he was obstinate, and I watched police shoot protesters dead for no reason at all
