Carrick was never the ideal replacement for Amorim.

Amorim inherited the bigger mess. He had to sanitize years of institutional rot, reset standards, change tactical habits and reshape the squad.

Carrick has inherited a softer landing because Amorim already absorbed much of that pain.

Carrick's real test starts now. If he succeeds, fine. But don't erase the foundation Amorim laid simply because someone else is now benefiting from it.
